I do okay playing my GWF, love the game so far, but man those GF's and that repeated slam are just devastating, not complaining just curious how to counter it. What move is that? I like the TR's they do some <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> burst damage which is fine, the wizzys if played good are fun fights, clerics again if played good are tough to kill, but when I see a GF I know I'll be dead in a few of those slams, once I get hit with one a I cant even leap away to avoid the next attacks. Unstoppable is nice, but doesnt do nearly the damage the GFs seem to do with that move. GF seems like a cool class, so I'm going to roll a GF as I love heavy geared melee classes, but I first want to figure out how to counter that devastating move they have with my GWF.
Can't help in detail with the counters, since I don't know GWFs enough. But in general, I can tell you the difference between a good GWF I have faced and the baddies as a GF:
Good GWFs ones never charge a GF if they dont have cc- immunity up, unless they can use their speed to get behind the GF and then pop the 4-ghost strike thing that dazes.
Then using their CC root or knockdown or just simply melee in Unstoppable mode, and most GFs do not last long.
Basically, GFs are at their strongest by far on opening. You have to negate that. Then, your superior survivability, frequency of strikes between cooldowns of GF's Encounters will do most of the rest. Add in your CC, and all but most experienced AND geared GF's will go down.
Occassionally, you may meet a full knockdown GF (2 Encounters + Daily), but who also happens to know how to manage the high cooldown CC and not "blow their load" in one go - those are harder to kill and fight takes longer. However, most of those knockdown GF's are baddies, so it is easy to learn to counter such CC chains since they require the opening not to fail.
Note. I am of course assuming you are talking about level 60 pvp, and preferably similarly geared players. Above tactics may not apply or work at low level pvp.
It may also be the combo of Frontline Surge + Lunging Strike + Bull's Charge. That one can take out lower HP GWF's. Even more dangerous is Knight's Challenge + Bull's Charge + Lunging Strike.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I'm 60, 11k AF, 4.5k Power, 3k crit, 3k AP, I have all grape decent gear etc, still tweaking some of course but I'm close to done with PvP gear. That must be what the combo is I'm getting pulverized with. I'll try that tactic, but sometimes you're workin someone else down, and I just get enialated by GF's that jump in, some of them are just bad a$$. Only real players I have major trouble with consistantly, but fun none the less. That GWF 4 strike move is Unstoppable but of course can be blocked if you pop it in front of a GF that's got guard up. Cool game, seems pretty balanced overall but the Dev's always keep the balance game a work in progress.
If you see a RED Laser of death locked onto you, then do not let the GF linked to it hit you. That's a 100% damage increase from Knights Challenge and you should CC the GF and blow them up for being bad. :P

Idiots use knights challenge to level 3 when in reality you should only use it in PvP with level 1, because when you increase the duration is actually favoring the enemy will have time to attack you any longer when he gets out of the CCs.
