So, when I was playing through the game just after launch, I got the Infiltrator's Armor, a level 15 armor obtained as a reward from the quest "Fists of the Warband". I have a poor screenshot as an attachment (taken from a youtube video).
It was a refreshing change to the dull lack of real variety for low level armors. Sadly, it was outclassed by my equipment from the get go. I used it some but eventually trashed it for inventory space. This was before I knew about changing armor appearance.
Anywho, I made a new rogue, got the armor, and... it's been "corrected" I suppose (because I think that's a GWF model maybe). It now looks like every other rogue's (and their mother's) armor running around
I don't suppose there's another armor out there that will have the same/similar look to it? If not, this post will at least be here to inform anyone else where their favorite low level rogue armor went
(I couldn't find anything else on this vague, pointless topic of mine when I was looking around anyway).

Yea, and its a quest drop so i'm fairly sure its BoP, so you wont even find any floating around the AH. That is a bit of a bummer.
Probably just means legacy items will get "Fixed" at a later date. For that reason alone i'm a bit dubious about using it to transmute something.
Hellfire Armor @ 57
Bracers of Scouting @ 15, Archon Bracers @ 57, House Xorlarrin Bracers @ 60
Hat of the Pirate Host @ 26, Archon Helm @ 57, Hat of the Pirate Horde @ 60
Bone-Shard Bindings @ 12, Boots of Far Striding @ 24, Boots of the Fire Giant @ 57
I know for certain most of those have cool/different looks to them (PIRATE HATS WOOOO!).
Other than that you're best bet for cool (or at least different looking) armor pieces are blue-grade armor with unique names. Once you get to level 60 you can get epic purple-grade armor that'll look good (especially since it's finally worth it to slap a color dye or two on them since you'll likely be using them for a long while).
But other then the rare unique drops mentioned previously. You wont see much as you level. The way the gear system seems to work, is about 15 levels you cross into a new tier of equipment. You can tell because the icons change slightly. Once that happens the base style of the armor shifts. Its slight, but its there. And then within each tier the gear can change from drop to drop. So you might end up with the same coat, but one drop has a different shoulder pad, or one might have the silly apron and butt flap, a third might have a different hip pad, ect.
So there is variety, but its subtle, minor, and something you gota look out for.
