I was really looking forward to the new Module 1 content, but I think I am going to take a brake from Neverwinter. Not because the changes in DD loot or the changes in classes, or whatever people are complaining about these days. It's because I can't play the game. I know a lot of much older and much crappier MMOs that don't have this kind of problems.
I am not gonna go on one of those stupid rants that "all you care about is the money", but man, is it irritating when my character can't take a single step, he's twitching like he's having a seizure and across the screen I see a message that says some guy I don't even know has won a Nightmare mount. Yeah, that's great, thanks for the advertisement, but I cant even take a single step. No person in their right mind would invest money in a game they can't play.
You got a million threads on this forum about this, but no solutions. Are you ever gonna fix this rubberbanding problem that a lot of us are having? Please, make an announcement when you fix your servers and when the game is playable. Make a big post on Facebook or on the forum that says "The Game Can Be Played Now". OK?

How do they fix:
the Poor PCs,
underspecced for the settings GPUs,
budget ISP that cannot provide stable routes
RFI of the users WiFi
million other factors outside their control
I'm not suggesting that there may not be problems, but so far few of my 'lag' issues have been 'the game' most have been IP routing or overloaded routers, or trying to run the game with max. possible GPU settings! (on a 3 year old GPU)

sounds like you need to contact your isp or upgrade your graphics card. i've really never heard of anyone having connection issues. maybe if you linked these million threads? i'm sorry but its not cryptic's fault you dont have a computer that meets min requirments. Have you tried turning down both slider bars in the options menu. That helped my wife's crappy laptop to be able to play the game. She now only lags a little in PE and is fine anywhere else. It looks like mine craft but its playable till we get her tower finished.
Apparently people don't research the forums. The OP has a valid point. This
issue affects many people, even people with cable modems and $3k+ gaming
rigs. Luckily, its mostly only in the city though.
Rubberbanding is nothing to do with client pc performance. Graphics settings have nothing to do with lag; you get the same information from the server regardless of how high or low your settings are.
The only time i've experienced rubber banding is if the instance is at, or near, population cap. Switching instances, has always, solved my problem.

I understand many of you don't have lag/rubberbanding problems and I am happy for you guys, but a lot of players do have these problems. Running the game with maxed visuals might freeze an outdated PC, but not cause lag or rubberbanding. The problem could be my internet connection, but I know it's not that because I played and still play from time to time other MMO's and they work fine.

Might be worth running a tracert and the crypticnettest and posting the results in the thread.
Thanks parp12, but I already did it. It's a thread started at the end April and since then there are no updates on the problem, just players posting their results.

Yeah I noticed it's pretty old and no official comments on the last couple of pages. If you know what you're looking at the results of those tests would at least tell you where the problem is; seems a few people had a problem with a specific ISP.
Personally I think they've reduced the amount of hardware they have as the number of people playing has dropped (despite the lame marketing claim that there's 2 million playing), but they've been too aggressive and it's not enough to support peak times.

The times I've had the worst rubberbanding was when I had crashed... AND THE PERFECT WORLD CRASH REPORTER was running. It has more to do with the number of packets your system is trying to send to Perfect World's system ... I don't know if the crash reporter uses the same port as the game or not (Not that tech savvy), but the worst rubber banding I ever had was after three crashes while three separate crash reports were trying to send. Cancelling the Full Data Dump (some BILLION bytes or so??) fixes it (for me, anyway)
I never had the issue when this game was in OB but when i tried coming back a few weeks ago it was pretty bad...kinda a off and on issue. Be fine for a few days then randomly super rubber bandy. At first it was indeed my connection. I moved and didnt realize my wireless router was going wonky to the point my download speed kept dipping to 2-5mbps. Did a hard reset and got my wireless download to a constant 20-25mbps (direct line is around 50-70 only paying for 30 lol oddly enough) But even after the fix I still had random rubber banding. So people automatically dooming the OP's PC or connection arnt doing their research and this is a issue.
Also no rubber banding on any other mmo im playing or have played the fast few weeks. Also why im breaking from NW atm (well 1 of many reasons)
Aye, no other game I have played recently has lag issues as serious as Neverwinter. For the most part it only affects going places in town, but now and then it happens when I'm just out questing. So if I can play any MMO out there and experience zero lag issues, then come to Neverwinter and I randomly rubberband and disconnect like crazy especially on Friday nights, where does the problem lie?
Hint: Neverwinter.
Instance swapping has almost always fixed it for me, but thanks to that two minute cooldown it's usually faster to just eat the lag if I'm trying to go somewhere. For instance, with the worst rubberbanding I ever had it took me 90 seconds to get from the gate to Sgt. Knox while mounted on a 50% speed horse. Upon entering town, I can't switch maps for at least 120 seconds and I normally don't find out about the lag until 20 seconds in and I'm back near the gate ramming a mailbox. It's not even guaranteed that swapping to another map will fix it, and a few times I was even disconnected while doing so; reconnect, and I'm back in the ultra laggy instance of town. Yay.
What they ought to do is lower the population cap for each map.
Edit: Just found out that the time spent with the server not responding doesn't count against the time needed to swap map instances. Awesome.

Most think its the cheap servers Anet are using.
Dunno if you've looked at this thread:
