I'm not sure if this has been answered anywhere else or is available to find out, but I can't seem to find any info on if the new expansion brings on a level cap raise?

There is no increase in the cap. The expansion content (other than new races and companion) in the Feywild is all level 60 content.
I assume the reason is that for quite a few people, due to practices in some other games, "expac" = "level cap raise".
Yeah, but this is more like a "content release" than an "xpac". Kind of like with WoW..... 5.0 (Pandaria) was an expansion, with level cap. 5.1, 5.2, etc.... all major content releases that increase the things you can do (new dungeons, new raids, etc), but no level increase.
edit: of course, with Cryptic, an expansion still wouldn't be a guarantee of a cap increase. STO's Romulan expansion didn't have any cap increase. (Different game, of course - with the vast amount of cash ships that have come out over time in STO, increasing the cap - and obsoleting all those ships - would be quite the change to make.)
There are some added feats though, I believe. I saw them when playing preview, but they weren't under the feats tab. They had their own tab.

For all the AD spent on gear and enchants, people would shat a brick if the level cap increased. Assuming there would be loot for that level increase, as well.
A level cap would have been divulged earlier on when the expansion (Not upgrade) would be released. An upgrade is different from an expansion. Going from Version 1.0 to 2.0 of this game I could see a possible raise in level cap then. But like Rapticor said, why raise the level cap 2 months out of Open Beta? It would be a demise in and of itself. But there could be added Paragon Paths/Feats/Etc..depending on how they can have it ready for production. Also they "may release" the content/Tomes to allow us to finally upgrade our lower level Companions. Though I did not see this in the release notes.

My two cents:
First, there's Marvel Heroes. The level cap in that game is also 60, and people are starting to reach it. But instead of simply increasing the level cap, the developers are working on a prestige-system, where you can reset your character back to level 1 and keep leveling up. No idea what the prestige-stuff really means, but it's an interesting solution. Maybe it's simply a new game+ mode, or something, so you start at lvl 1 with all your skills and stats. Not a clue.
Second, there's Diablo 3. The level cap there hasn't been increased yet either, but they added a Paragon system where you get 100 new levels after lvl 60. This doesn't mean you get to reach lvl 160, though. What it means is that at lvl 61 and upwards, you'll be gaining Paragon levels that increase the usual stats (strength, dexterity etc), and also adds 3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find pr level. This way you won't be super-powerful at Paragon lvl 100, but you'll feel a better reward, as you have much better magic- and gold-find.
Maybe one of these could be a 'solution' to Neverwinter's level cap?

Eh. Both of those are ARPG level-grinder/random-lootsplosion/action/powergaming games. Not sure I'd use those as examples of what to do in an MMO.
(I've got to say, personally, that I've never really understood the whole obsession some people have with "MOAR LEVELS! Gotta have more levels! When's the cap increase!?!?!" Sure, in uber-powergamer/min-max/action games (like the Diablos, or Borderlands, etc), it can be fine. But in games that are theoretically supposed to have a balance? (ex: the level cap increasing to 30 in Fallout 3's Broken Steel DLC totally screwed that game up. Threw game balance out the window. Better solution to the people complaining that they hit cap too quickly would have been to slow down leveling, not to add more levels.)
Obviously, different game genres are different. ARPG =/= MMO =/= Single player RPG. Different player motivations, different balance imperitives, etc. MMOs, so far, seem to feel the need to keep putting a new carrot to work for in front of the players. Usually in the form of some new, higher tier of gear; locked behind new, tougher challenges.

Well, for what it's worth, DDO has the reincarnation system, which sounds sort of similar to the Marvel Heroes system (I know nothing about Marvel Heroes, so I can't say for sure). Basically, you completely restart your character, can choose a new class and race, but get bonuses based on your past lives.

Even with "alternate" systems of XP gain, such as the AA system in EQ, you're still going to have those people who max everything quickly and cry about wanting more levels or AAs. There are always some people who will never have enough content.
Meh.
SO really no reason to even bother doing the new zone, exept to try a new elf.
SOme races cap before the cave, and i usually dont bother finishing after cap.
Not like theres an ultra cool award for it.
So i guess ill wander to another game, to not get bored.
I dont like pvp, and t2 dd are boring / repetetive / 2 many exploits <- Pick 1.
Theres no really unique items, like 1 % drop chance or less.
Theres no really great sets for most classes, and most characters look like clones wearing same gear.
Bards are awesome ... music and great tales off adventures.
AOC's alternate advancement system is pretty slick as well..
Bonus points after maxing lvl etc to spend on specific skills blah..
Would be nice to have something extra thrown in, even a lvl 61 which to attain you have to get as much xp as you have from 1-60.
Anything extra to make the daily grind seem more worthwhile but im in no rush, still testing out different classes an builds..

Perhaps MMOs aren't for you? Content played "at the cap" is a standard feature of the genre.

And that seems to be exactly the point of Feywild - a normal MMO content release, to expand the number of activities there are to do at the cap. For the people who are bored with/don't like the already available options.
