Hi

Just curious, which one seems more worthwhile in PvP for a TR?

thanks

I don't do PvP, but TR's AC is pretty weak, and it would take an awful lot of defense to counter it. You have at least 75% deflect value, so it does not hurt to pump up your deflect chance.

    Hope that helps.

Well you kinda want both to be at certain points. Most players will be around 24% arm pen so its only natural to pump up some def to get 28% or so for some mitigation so its not at 0. Then after that all deflection. Deflection is the best def stat because of how much you can decrease the incoming damage. If you get hit by lunge or a lashing etc, etc Def wont save you but if you deflect it then you have a chance to walk away.

Deflect is better. Lifesteal is probably better still if your damage is high enough (that is I think for TR specifically, with top dps, you can recover more damage with life stealing than you can mitigate with either defensive stat).

Deflect for TR. As they can get it really high with feats and encounters.
Deflect have no counter to it. Defence can be bypassed/debuffed to negative numbers. Lifesteal really isn't very great for melee classes unless they are really really defensive specced. Wich means you gonna need to pump up Defence and Deflect in the first place. Life steal is ok for Ranged classes as they can pretty easy avoid taking dmg. However Lifesteal does nothing for your defence if you're being CC'd. And pvp in this game is a CC cluster****

Its not the melee aspect its the high damage aspect. TR specifically due to big hits gets a lot of mileage out of LS, but as you said, if you are not hitting anything due to stuns, its useless....

Yeah but the problem is, that if you skip out on Deflect for TR, like skipping the feats, and ecounters. You gonne be shredded in seconds, Lifesteal isn't gonna help you. Well, might work now when i think of it, like no TR are playing a melee Rouge, it's just sneak stab from stealth, dodge away, and throw stuff. But anyway, Lifesteal is pretty ok on ranged classes as they can sit at range and heal up with LS. If you're goin into melee, i would sugest Deflect and Regen for moast classes as Regen ticks even if you're getting CC'd. Classes that can reach Dmg Resistance of 35-40%+ I think Defence is a better option.

deflect can be really nice if you have the sinister shade set and skillful infiltrator class feature slotted (3% feat and halfling is optional). If not i dont think enchanting it would be wise. Hp never seems as a bad idea for pvp, maybe defense but stacking deflect to have <25% sounds like a waste to me
