I have to say that there are VERY few things about this game that I have issues with in terms of design, I find the respec costs are at the top of my list. Being a new player, I had no real knowledge of how to choose the "correct" feats, and powers to make my life easier on my cleric. The tool tips did not provide the clearest detail on how they work in conjunction with your powers, so like a novice trying to learn a new game, I put points all over the place in things that sounded cool, but are not really the ideal place, at the lower levels when I wanted to respec, I saw that it was only around 20k AD, and thought that was not to bad and figured I would continue to explore and see how things worked, thinking that when I get higher up and know how to really play my class I would just save up the 20k ish AD.
I had no idea that the price to respec jumps drastically every level I almost fell on the floor in shock last night when I finally hit level 50 and managed to get around 25k AD to see it now costs me 97k ish AD !
While I love this game, but a major flaw that I have found is the lack of forgiveness to new players who are going to make "mistakes" and try new things and see what happens, only to find out later that they "get punished" for not knowing every little thing about their class and its ability's before they even start a new one with these high respec costs.
It almost feels like they expect you to have full knowledge of how you are going to play, and build your character before you even make it, and that to me seems a bit harsh.
So here I am at level 50, with no real way to make AD because I thought alchemy sounded neat and would probably make some money with (and after 2 and a half weeks I am still only at level 7 cause leveling this profession is painful) I am having a hard time keeping up with groups taking to much damage because I didnt choose my feats "correctly" while leveling up
