Came back after a few months & Just hit lvl 16.
What's the best companion nowadays?
Is it still the healer?

    Depends...if you are good at the control part of wizard then healer would be a waste.

    Go for a tank or a dps companion.

    Either way it doesn't cost much gold to buy all 3 and figure out which works best for your play style.

    I'd say pick a companion that complients both your playstyle and your character. I picked a hawk for my TR, as I think it suits the character the best. My GWF has a boar, as that suits her the best, and so on.

    It doesn't much matter until you hit 60 honestly, and at that point the only real options are ioun stones or a cat.
