One more encounter power slot please

As a Control Wizard, I'm aware that sometimes there aren't enough slots for encounter powers. Although at high levels we have new control powers, low level control powers such as Repel and Entangling Force are still useful. Unfortunately we have only 4 slots for encounter powers, and that's not enough to meet our needs.

Currently the center mouse button is unused, and that's definitely a waste. Therefore may we have one more encounter power slot bound to the center mouse button? I believe this request isn't too much.

Yea, it's to much. 1 more slot can destroy balance in game.

Its interesting only having a few buttons to press, and fun. Although I find the mechanic of not being able to easily utilize every power in the game kind of immersion limiting. If we are only able to use a few powers at a time, why are we limited in our useable power choices? Why not allow everyone to max spec in every power and class feature and swap out as they like?

Please don't say it is because they want us to buy power retraining tokens or whatever it is...

Funny how the 1 class in the game that gets 4 encounters, instead of the 3 everyone else gets, is complaining and asking for more. Sounds greedy. Funnier still, you are not the only Wizard I've heard say similarly. Although my friend on his wizard was high and was just asking to be god above all others I feel like you are not - if CW got another slot everyone would have to. That said, it is unnecessary and could lead to severe imbalances.

I think that having 3 encounter slots (4 in the case of control wizards through their spell mastery slot, which for those who dont know, is just their tab skill), is more than enough and means that as a wizard, you need to think more about you skillset for any given encounter.

I would also disagree about binding anything to the 'centre mouse button' also known as the scrollwheel, which while it does not have any specific use (other than those of us of have complex keybinds attached to it to scroll through various FoV settings), it is also an un-natural button to press, at least for me.
I reject your reality and I substitute my own!

They could give us another daily slot instead (say, at L60). It would increase CW spell diversity without doing too much to mess with balance since use is limited by action points anyway.

There is no need, what is more needed is a quick switch for skill loadouts.

CW already have plenty of diversity, with having four encounter powers available.

Having 3 encounter slots means you will never use 50% of the encounter powers you have, because they are not good enough to waste a slot on.

And before someone says "But it's like in 4E D&D", I don't see why this game that already has barely anything to do with the P&P game has to take the worst possible elements from it.

If everyone was able to choose from all available powers, boss fights could be designed around a wizard being able to choose from any powers, instead of just add fights, I don't mean to hijack the thread, but it really is at the core of the issue. A minimal UI is a good thing, if anything we should have less available powers and a faster way to switch between them.

Okay, so Control Wizard have 4 encounter power slots and other classes have 3? I didn't know that. I thought all classes have 4.

The purpose of this thread was to ask devs for one more encounter power slot for all classes, not only for Control Wizard.

Other classes have a unique special ability instead of a fourth encounter slot. Spell diversity, represented by an extra encounter spot, is the CWs special ability.

I doubt they will add any more encounter slots, as I expect they will wish to keep the number of buttons one must use in play to the current amount.

I'd settle for being able to slot an encounter power in a daily power slot. Surely that should be allowed, at least.

As a DC I would love to have an extra encounter slot. but that being most likely not happening, ill settle for a quick switch. give us 3-4 hotkey-able actions that could switch entire skill setups. requirement is everything on CD (just like switching a normal power). and there ya go. drop out of combat for a few seconds, hit a hotkey, and a whole new set of powers.

Perfect - sometimes you have to switch targets/tactics mid battle and fiddling with your power screen can be fatal, just generally moving and using at wills while you wait for the cooldown timers would work and not be too OP.

I'd slot for more hotbars. Only one allowed at time. When you switch hotbars, every encounter goes on a 5s cooldown.

So sick and tired to drag every power to my only hotbar at the beginning of every dungeon, every boss, every pull, every event.

    Booooring.
