Extreme Graphics Slow Down -- New Skirmish

Today I did the new Skirmish, Hunt something (sorry forgot the exact name).
While fighting the witches and final boss in the skirmish I experienced severe frame rate drops - as in it stopped.
I'm on a decent rig too. I asked other played on my team if they had the same problem and they all did too.
5/5 had either unplayable or nearly unplayable frame rate issues.
While fighting the final boss a little further back, the lag seemed to lessen. Maybe all that bright blue on the floor?
