Serious "Buyers Regret": Companion Unbind Bug, Please fix!

Acolyte of Kelemvore clearly states it can be traded with other characters. There are even in-game instructional windows telling us how to unbind this companion, However it never works, and has not for weeks.

I desperately want to move this from one character which I decided to re-roll to his re-rolled alt. I'm eager to make this transfer as the re-rolled alt hit level 60 this morning, and I would like to finally delete the original character whose only purpose in life is to warehouse the companion until this bug is fixed.

After weeks of waiting I am now to point where I am deeply sorry I ever bought the Zen for this companion. If there is anyway to solve this via a workaround, or if GM's are in the game (I've waited several days and no response) that are able to help with this I would be tremendously grateful.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's an interesting issue. I am sure there are numerous reasons for the inactivation of the unbind feature, one of which might be a balancing issue. For instance I just rolled a rogue and bought him a level 1 jagged dancing blade, the blade can take down quest bosses solo. Giving a level 30 companion to a level 1 character would be extremely powerful, and scaling back the companions to the players level kind of defeats the purpose...

I do sympathize with the challenge of trying to keep things balanced, In fact I would like to hear from others with a similar issue. However in my case I don't see how it applies. Fist off the Acolyte of Kelemvore doesn't have any attacks. Secondly, Although the original plan was to move this companion to my GWF early on, it has been so long the character is now level 60 and no longer has any chance of being outclassed by his companion.

Does anyone know if there are GM's staffed who can help with this. I've been waiting in-game for 10 hours with my associated e-mail on the other screen and have not heard back all day. I will be significantly harder to reach in game due to real life getting in the way of game time.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'd guess this is the main reason , imagine transfering a level 25 cat or stone that has BiS in everything over to a level 1 character , it would make you crazy op .

I do understand that, but I've been trying to transfer a level 16 healer to a level 60 GWF for several weeks. I'm a patient and understanding man but at what point is it understandable that patience can wear thin for a paying customer?

Yeah, I bought the lil rock monster for my cleric back when it was my main (and before i decided to try any other classes) then I realized the CW is way funner for me and could use a tank... the cool one i payed for that is stuck on my cleric.

On a somewhat related note, I am really sick of this inability or difficulty in transferring things between characters on the same account. I don't want to have to mail things to myself. I want to move my little bars, AD, companions and etc from one to another with ease or have them simply be shared in an account pool. SO THE F__K WHAT if it can be used to make lvl1 charas OP. I already busted my *** in one way or another on a different character to acquire the items/currency, so why can't I just have a joint storage? Do I need to make a guild just for my account characters and get guild storage so I move things with ease? is that even possible lol?

The issue here is: buyers are misled into believing that the companions CAN BE TRADED, and CAN BE UNBOUND. Infact, the unbind buttons are there, and even asking for a cost of astral diamonds. You must agree that option to trade and unbind does play a significant weight in a zen-spender's decision to invest. If Cryptic wants to balance the game, then remove all traces of the unbind function instead to placing it there to "lure" buyers into spending money and regret it. In a more unpleasant sense, its cheating.

If I'm not mistaken, unbinding was available in Closed Beta but "broke" in Open Beta. Many threads have been posted about this. Yet, I can't recall a post by a DEV stating if and or when it will be fixed. If one has been posted, sorry, but being able to transfer a companion that I might have spend A.D./Zen/real money for is an important feature that deserves attention, immediately. A feature that worked fine for a while has been broken for months.
If you can't transfer a companion to another character or sell it to make A.D. the player is forced to spend or buy A.D. to get another companion.

I don't know, seems shady that it hasn't been fixed yet.

    You are mistaken. :)

This has *always* been broken ever since beta 1, and even through out all Alpha testing. It has *never* worked. It's as though all the code to make it function (charging AD, cautioning the player, etc) was built, but then the last part of the code that *actually unbinds* the companion was never written, finished or implemented - so everything accomplished up to that point gets reverted (AD not actually charged, etc)..

ATTN: CRYPTIC - Either FIX THIS -or- REMOVE ALL REFERENCES to the capability AND make all Z-Store companion Account-bound instead of character-bound.

ONE OF THESE TWO SOLUTIONS NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED ASAP. I am close to being in the same scenario as the OP describes.

Since I enjoy life, I'll not hold my breath waiting for any kind of official or moderator response to this query or thread in general.
