200k 15-20 500k 20-25 750k 25-30 so could spend 2000 zen on a blue companion I the store then have to spend another 750k AD around 2200 Zen if converting to upgrade it, mount upgrade costs too way to expensive.

the upgrade is so you can be unique and have a maxed out pet of a lower tier, you could always just buy a purple mount.

Mounts are different. The ludicrous upgrade costs on mounts are arguably justified because the value proposition on the alternative is actually pretty good. You buy a mount from the store for $25, and all of your characters (and any characters you might roll in the future) move ~40% faster (210/150 = 1.4), forever.

That's a tangible and well-defined benefit for buying the mount.

    By contrast, companions are:

1.) Only available on a per-character basis, so right off the bat your money spent on a companion is far less efficient.

2.) Diverse. A particular companion (or type of companion) is more or less valuable based on your character's build, equipment, and the situation. A player might reasonably want to have (or upgrade) several different companions per character. There's no benefit to having more than one mount, except for looks, because mounts all function in exactly the same way.

3.) Dumber than a box of rocks. Seriously, I know that companion upgrade costs shouldn't be based on what we might reasonably guess (hope???) is a temporary AI limitation, but sheesh. The fact that there'll probably be countless updates in the future to improve companion AI, updates that may affect different companions differently, is reason enough to hold back on the cash grab here.

It shouldn't cost more to upgrade a companion, based on the seemingly static ~350:1 conversion rate, than it does to just buy a Tier 3 companion from the outset.

Fortunately most companions are just as pathetic at Rank 30 as they are at Rank 15 so I wont be bothered to upgrade them in the first place.

A more suitable upgrade cost would be something like:

    White to Green = 180,000 AD ($5.15)
    Green to Blue = 350,000 AD ($10.00)
    Blue to Purple = 520,000 AD ($14.85)

Total AD cost to upgrade from White to Purple = 1,050,000 AD ($30.00)

Purple companion cost around 3000 zen or roughly 1,050,000 AD (at the exchange rate of 350 AD to 1 zen)

this is in fact a correct :D i think these prozes will be best based on what we currently have cryptic will continue to win :)
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...

Yeh, the casual players are the ones getting the shaft in this game but we still play because the game is a lot of fun. If Cryptic follows the same formula as Star trek Online, there will be events that give opportunities for upgrades and special items. The blue skeletal dog is a good example.

These events are usually the best chance for a casual player to get a special item. Of course the hardcore and career gamers will get it also, in addition to the tons they already have.

A more suitable upgrade cost would be something like:

    White to Green = 180,000 AD ($5.15)
    Green to Blue = 350,000 AD ($10.00)
    Blue to Purple = 520,000 AD ($14.85)

Purple companion cost around 3000 zen or roughly 1,050,000 AD (at the exchange rate of 350 AD to 1 zen)

I think these prices are reasonable. They are in a range that will tempt casuals to spend the money if they really like the companion. Also, the AD amounts are doable with a bit of time and work.

Is there some where we can make suggestions for future mounts or companions even the possibility of mount pet sets with bonuses for the 2

i also Agree with various statements and comments i found in my search through the forums, about the upgrade costs being to high and companions and mounts not being sufficiently upgradable or customizable
