You have to craft them (or buy on Auction House (probably a better choice))

I make them for all classes all the time and put them up for auction, check the Auction House............unless you are referring to them being sold by a regular vendor, then I am not sure by who and where they are sold.

Some of these are drops, but the endgame ones are AFAIK all made by players using the relevant profession. So just check the AH.

If you are a new player at 60 then just grabbing a cheap green level 50-55 shirt/pant for a few hundred AD will be fine.

For a long time I confused these with the fashion items you get from one of your first quests from Sgt Knox. I still see a lot of people in full t2 sporting their +1 defense pants and shirt.

Some Tier 2 stuff is a lot cheaper than a gemmed shirt/pant which is best in slot at endgame. So I think a lot of people don't bother upgrading until they can afford those. Not sure why as a few hundred AD will get you a cheap green with some nice stats.

Crafting is cheaper, IF you bide your time. Tool prices have gone up severely in the past few weeks, so unless you're patient you'll actually spend more towards starting up crafting than you would just paying for the shirt or pants.

I am pretty sure that there is no way crafting is cheaper than buying for one character.

Epic tools are 250+K and you need four of them to have a decent chance of a Gemmed Shirt/Pants. And for each try (NOT GUARANTEED) at a Gemmed shirt/Pants you also need a Dragon's Egg which is 100+K.

Whereas you can get a Gemmed Shirt/Pants for as low as 250K sometimes, and this is not even taking into account the amount of gold and collectables you will be using to get your crafting up to 20......

They are crafted, hence the hefty price tags on the AH.

Up until level 55 or so, the shirts and pants are relatively easy to make and don't require any costly tools or resources. It's when you get to the blue/purple shirts & pants that things get costly.
