Foundry Asset Request List - Essentials Missing from NW's Foundry

edited July 2013 in The Foundry
Background:
Mapolis (a Cryptic Dev) did a great job of working with Star Trek Online's Foundry beta team on getting essential assets into the game. Whether empty maps, special effects, or primitive geometry parts, he was the go-to dev for item requests before the Foundry was released to the general STO playerbase.

Detail Objects:
  • Primitives (plain, geometric detail objects; needed in various textures: Wood, Stone, Metal, etc.)
    • Cube
    • Round Disc (solid)
    • Round Disc (hollow--like a doughnut)
    • Large, Flat Platforms (to pave geo and provide level surface)
  • Open or Covered wagons -- empty for small object placement (non-destroyed)

Maps
  • The following biomes with lake, flat, circular path, straight path, rolling hill layouts
    • Desert
    • Tundra

Suggest below and I'll update the list.

I assume you mean covered wagons and not a large cart?

    Yup yup ^^

    Edit: Urhm nope.

I can't find a single actual wagon to use. As in, horse wagon. With seats and a place for things.

    Either closed or open.

Updated with covered/open wagons--empty with place for detail objects.

Proper road sections that adhere to the terrain would be nice. Cobble streets, dirt tracks etc. The small decals we have now use a lot of assets to make a decent road.

First of all they should add a 3D view directly in the Foundry Editor. Because it sucks so hard, you always have to change modes to actually place things right. After that (which could never happen, even if they promised) they should add the possibility too add chests and packs with a limit for sure. And yes, they have to pay one guy without a graduation who test the Foundries and if they're are full of loading screens and chests, after another review of some guy with a graduation, they delete the map without any backup.

But there are so many other missing things, that are mentioned in other threads. It's a mess, its not even Beta with all those missing features. Here you see again what's the point of NW = making money and let the users make the content, for free.

You know how they have "dead body" pose for NPCs?

They need STATUE pose. Let us turn any NPC into a statue. That would take care of their whole "only 3 statues" problem, while also opening up a whole new world of possibilities for us.

Also, if they'd just let us change even ONE color on items, we could make millions of more varieties of environments. Think about what that would open up for us. Seriously. The same items recolored can give a greater illusion of variety entirely by itself.

I'm not sure what you mean -- I change helmet/head/body/legs/feet armor off of "pre-set" and change the colors all the time.

    -Cows
    -Bats
    -Horses (without saddles)
    -Mules/Donkey
    -Levers/Swithces
    -Buckboard Wagons
    -Grain Silo
    -Scarecrow

I gave them the complete answer to multiple author-placeable chests and even the math totally preventing exploitation here.

    Objects, not NPCs.

Make a black chair instead of a brown chair. A black statue instead of a white/gray statue.
