This needs some work. We can use ****, but HAMSTER is filtered? Also, a friend of mine wanted to say someone was in the pens, but that was considered profane. This filter needs a little work. Why not just filter the big bad seven and not worry about harmless words like idiot and HAMSTER... and pens...?
Really, pens?

Sure, in the client, you can. But as an author, you can't. The Foundry will always automatically filter any text you put into dialogue, or NPC names, or quest objectives or item descriptions, or anywhere that you type text.

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure you can turn the filter off. I turned it off as author while playtesting a map. Never noticed seeing anything filtered after that. I suppose maybe no one ever said anything bad. But with how touchy the filter is I find that unlikely.

As an author anything in editing has automatic filtering. And it cannot be turned off, for you cannot complete publishing until those filtered words are resolved.

That's not what we're talking about.
When you type something into the dialogue for NPCs or items to say... if you type in a bad word (like bimbo), it will give you a warning "Contains profane words". Then you have a "can't proceed" exclamation mark until you remove the oh-so-deeply offensive word...

Ah, yeah I misunderstood. Sorry. The dialogue filter does stop a lot of weird things. I left the E off of came by mistake and it wouldn't let it through.
I think my biggest peeve about the filtering is the filtering of the word "*******". The main antagonist in my campaign has a ******* son and I had to filter the word like so "b*stard" to make use of it. People have complained that I was filtering it for no reason, and I agree.
Its even filtered on the forums...really?
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

I've been resorting to Shakespearean insults. My current favorite is "clotpole".
