GR Companion for Level 60 (mostly pve)

So I'm going off of Rokuthy's hybrid tanking guide and all is going smoothly so far. I'm level 42 at the moment and digging the build. However I like to plan ahead and I'm wondering about companions. The guide suggests using the cat, however that's nearly one million AD. While I save that up is there a different companion that will do better than my level 16 freebie cleric or should I just stick with that until I can grab the cat?

    Cat is for min-maxers. Having any augment-class pet as early as possible (remember you have to level it up to unlock the slots) is far more important than waiting around to save up an extra 300k for the ideal pet as a new player (if you already have a level 60, you don't really have an excuse, i.e. it is an actual choice).

    So, many people get the cheaper Ioun Stone of Allure instead. Given that it has the advantage of never dying and also looking cool, many consider it a drop-in replacement for the Cat in general.
