As the foundry is still down I thought I would start another 'what would you like to see introduced into the foundry' thread.
I would like: An Orangutan, a greenhouse, more plants, pictures and a yellow brick road.
OK, not a yellow brick road but the option of changing the colour and size of things. That was just an example, another could be a giant pink mushroom or a Halfling castle.
I wonder how many quests there would be with the librarian
More/some variety on walls and floors for human habitation, well more items in general.
More pre-built buildings with multiple floors.
And if we are dreaming/praying;
Timer objects.
Ability to put text onscreen when a certain point on the map is reached, without it being part of the main story.
Being able to build complex structures out of rooms in 3D, so use a room with stairs at one end and you drop a room on it and it cuts out the floor in the same way as the doors in the current system when joining rooms.
Doors which open and close without all sorts of tricks required.
Ability to place all objects in 3d, like spawn points, traps, NPC's etc.
The ability to move in 3D when in 3D mode.
To be able to group all items between specified Y cords and then toggle each groups visibility in the editor (work on a house floor without seeing anything but the floor you are working on).
There's more I have thought of, but forgotten to write down, and I am fairly new to this so I suspect I am going to find plenty more when I progress.
As mentioned before, Broadcasts connected to markers or even better, that we can program to happen in the same way as other things (like after an encounter, etc.).
More statues. The pitiful few choices we have now make all crypts sort of look alike. Not appealing.
More general non-combat animals. Deer as mentioned, bunnies, maybe some birds (besides circling crows). But also some for interiors. Rats or mice. Bats (we get the sounds, but not the bats themselves, or have I just been missing them all this time?).
The ability to use "or" triggers on all objects. So that, if someone chooses the "up your nose" option, OR chooses the "forget this" option, the same object spawns. Rather than having to choose both or only one... or having to use 8 objects for a simple "this or that" choice... This can be gotten around, yes... but it takes up significant amounts of your budget, which makes nimmy a very sad panda.
Breaching the Swarm NW-DUXUHQWNP
Pick your side, take a stand, save--or kill--your former allies.
-Scaling and hue for objects (Didn't NWN1 have this, like almost 10 years ago?).
-Skill nodes (dungeoneering, religion, thievery, etc.) I know, exploitative. Put a budget of 3 per map.
-Boss encounters - again using a "budget" system. Give, for example, 20 points to distribute among a variety of attacks and abilities. Abilities will "cost" more or less depending on powerful they are. (10% more HP cost 5 points, powerful cleave costs 2, etc., etc.) Would make for some interesting, non-cookie cutter bosses.
-More "tilesets" and map options.
-More encounter types, more monster models.
-3D map editing! (Again a la, NWN1 where you could zoom in, look at the map from different angles, etc.) It gets really annoying trying to position details when you can't see the terrain.

For me, the top priority is simple: STABILITY. I want to rely on the Foundry's availability so I can work on adventures. Less downtime for sure! AND I want to be able to hop in and out of 3D editing mode without timing out all the time. I want to hit "Save" or "Publish," knowing that the adventure will actually save/publish... and quickly! (No more of this 4+ hour delay of publishing and such.) Frankly, if the Foundry was working and reliable, I'd be cranking out content like crazy.
As for other things on my wishlist:
* The game is "Dungeons & Dragons." We can create dungeons in the Foundry; now we need to be able to add a DRAGON!
* We need livestock. DEER for the forests. COWS for the farms. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a FOX or two. How about a BADGER (shouldn't be hard with a Companion model already in game, right)? I'd love to throw an ALLIGATOR into a swamp, or a POLAR BEAR into my ice cave.
* How about SINGLE ENCOUNTERS of all difficulty levels? Maybe I want to add that easy/standard/hard level encounter winthout having to put in two or three mobs, simply because it fits a storyline better? And, by all means, GUARDS OF DIFFERENT CLASSES. I may want to have an old wizard follow the player around, or a bunch of clerics defending their monestary from the invading goblins. Please?
* TINTED DETAILS. Not all stone is gray (or gray with moss). Maybe I want to build a desert themed cavern with sandy colored rock. Just tint the existing models (or allow us to select a tint for them). It'd be nice to create an obsidian cavern, or a palace lined with jade. Yes, we can accomplish some of this with lighting, but tinted objects would be better.
* SITTING ANIMATIONS & POSES. 'Nuff said.
* GIANT WORMS. You know, bursting out of the ground and everything. Hey, you can even make 'em purple! (Though being able to choose a color would be better!)
* PIXIES! Little critters with insect or butterfly wings.
* Monstrous FROGS & TOADS to go with all the swampy environment pieces and sounds. They can leap into action, strike at heroes with absurdly long tongues. Better yet, make one of the models a TOAD MOUNT! (Seriously! Sell it, and use the proceeds to pay for the development of the other froggies.)
* VAMPIRES. Yup, we can kind of create 'em in-game right now by mixing encounter types and customizing costumes. But how about real blood-suckers? Way too many potential storylines here! (Hmm, that would give us hulking undead, werewolves, and vampires. What other classic monster are we missing? Oh yeah...)
* MUMMIES! Hey, if you make those sandy-colored stones I mentioned, throw in a bunch of mummies, and add some eastern/Persian/Egyptian/Babylonian etc.-themed details, we could take adventures in a whole new direction!
* BRANCHING STORYLINES. How about allowing a player to do this OR that, instead of only following a linear storyline. The possibilities for adventure (and replay!) are limitless.
* LIVING TREES. Hey, every good "haunted forest" fable has a few trees with limbs that reach out at ya with claw-like branches, right? While we're at it, how about MAN-EATING PLANTS? Or poison-spewing MUSHROOMS? Or exploding berry bushes? (I'm getting carried away, aren't I?)
* Where are the GELATINOUS CUBES, since the model is already in game? What about other OOZES and jellies and puddings to slurp their way through our dungeons?
* We've got various races in the game, plenty of human & drow architecture, and even a little for dwarves. What about ELF/HALFLING/TIEFLING ARCHITECTURE?
Okay... that's probably good for a start. Shall we expect all this in the next patch, please? Thanks!

Um, you do know about 3D edit mode, right?
(admittedly, it doesn't work for all assets, but it does for most)
(admittedly, it doesn't work for all assets, but it does for most)
Of course, but having to do it in-game is such an unnecessary workaround when the same thing could be accomplished (much more efficiently) with a 3D map editor instead of the pixelated mess we have to work with now.

There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

TBH.. just would like single 'animal' type encounter..
I always can skin it to different one, but im tired of forests full of wolfs making axe sounds, or spiting with venom..

I'll bite.
1. Let us use what's already available in the game.
2. Add more town/indoor clothing: dresses, suits, skirts, noblemen clothes, peasant clothes, normal clothes
3. Add non-hostile music: more town themes, "dialogue themes" (serious, 'holy', melancholy, happy, exciting, mysterious, relaxed), real tavern
4. More animals, with animations and advanced costume editing allowed: elephants, deer, owl, etc
5. Ability to scale/color objects
6. Ability to toggle "Guard" with any encounter
7. More single encounters
8. More animations - sitting, swimming, singing, laying down variants (propped up on elbow)
9. More window and stained glass options
10. Branching storylines
11. Cluster Manipulations - ability to make our own clusters
12. "Floorplan" clusters (even if they just come in rectangular, square, circle, oval) - it'd be great to have them designed so that we may add or subtract as needed
13. More, varying architecture
14. More, effective traps/harmful environmental effects
That's all I've got right off the bat.

15. Tiles/FX/animations for underwater environments. Hah.
16. Immortal "Guard" encounter that does no damage (but appears to be fighting).

The devs had a sticky thread for this once, now gone. However, I'd like to have the Foundry up on the weekends, for a start.
Comments
A short solo hack-n-slash: The Dirty Dwarf
Deffo! Just more single encounters all round and boss fights.
To be honest I would agree with just about anything. Probably not giant pink elephants but then see above.
And Sacred Heart Short Code: NW-DECMTQMEA
A video Review from visigoth18 you can watch it HERE Of Pt1: The Wishing Ceremony.
Pt1: The Wishing Ceremony is eligible for the Daily Foundry, Avg 27 mins.

Yep, I'd go with that for sure, it would get rid of lag for a start, I fear it would be far too exploitable though.
yes i know, Bosses would be it
and 1 or 2 placement of crafting gather things, but they would be exploited.
but with offline they could do something, even temp files saved or able to save, incase you mess up a map. would be good
