Lack of weekly bug fixes/updates to the game

I enjoy some aspects of the game, but like everyone else, other parts of it are extremely lacking and disappointing. One huge disappointment is the lack of weekly bug fixes/updates via patches. Maybe I am spoiled from the games of the last two years that spend the first 3-4 months patching 1-2 times a week trying to keep on top of bugs/exploits/adding new content.

Cryptic is the slowest at this aspect that I've ever seen in a game. (At least the last few years where the trend by companies has been to really patch quite often the first months out of the gate)

Small team or not, this is really bad PR by itself. If we see you working hard at making a great game, then your customer base will be more patient and more supportive. We only see patches every 2-3 weeks, however. (unless ofc it's to add to the Zen store)

When/if this game gets a back-filling option for dungeons, it will be a groundbreaking improvement. However, I'm sure we'll see more expensive, new, shiny items on the Zen store before more useful features are added/fixed. At some point no one will buy Zen store items because no one will be playing anymore.

I'm dumbfounded at not being able to replace a member that has left the dungeon at anytime during the run. What game doesn't have that option available in the last 8 years + ? Seriously, this is a terrible Q system. The worst I've seen in years. Why is it that new games come out without options that have existed in MMOs for years?

Cryptic has priorities that are beyond ridiculous. It is quite obvious that the main focus is on generating new & immediate micro transaction profits rather than dealing with the current bugs and create a long term satisfied player base. They are betting on the game growing with players coming new into the game rather than listening to the "founders" and the people that have supported the game since beta and fix the core mechanics. They really are underestimating the power of word of mouth and referrals.
I am predicting that if they continue down this road, the player base will start declining quickly within 6months, with new content or not.

New features content = higher ROI plan and simple.

A bug might affect a certain % of customers, but new content adds something to 100% of them. New content also brings new customers, bug fixes generally only attract a very small %. Also with the speed that most mmos move forward, lots of bugs become obsolete in older content and really just only affect then an even smaller % of customers if any.

It's really unfortunate that we as customers have to deal with so many glaring bugs and technical issues, but the above is the shift in software development.

Hopefully at some point it will come back around and be about quality.

So, apparently the array of patches in the last 2 months never happened?
And if they happen to skip 1 week, apparently it's worth wetting oneself over on the forums?

Have you actually read through them?

In case you haven't here's a sample for you.

    Patch Notes: NW.3.20130529g.27

This build is set to go live at 12AM PDT on Friday 6/28.

    UI

Playing with certain keyboards active and English (United States) uninstalled in Windows settings no longer causes contact dialogs to display as empty.

    Zen Market

The Alchemy Profession Promo no longer shows up in Zen Market banners, as the event has ended.
The links to the Billing site now point to the correct locale when playing in Italian, Turkish, or Polish.

Yes surprisingly, the emergency patch to fix a game breaking bug didn't get rolled out with a bunch of other fixes.

Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...

Unfortunately, players attention span is short and many will have moved on.

The have been pushing out a patch once a week, and in some cases more then that. This is not even all that special.

In fact, I predict we will see a patch tomorrow (Thursday) That seems to be their normal patch day. It could be as late as Friday due to last weeks short holiday week. And I predict the patch we will see will be the one that has been on the preview server this week.

Are my prognosticgation skills that impressive? Or this is this truly a routine that has been missed by the OP? Really hard to tell

That was to fix a major bug that popped up with the patch earlier in the week. The normal patch for that week was quite a bit larger.

They have started a tend of putting up the patch for a given week on the preview server the Friday before. So for example, last Friday the preview server got this patch. I'm surprised we haven't gotten the patch yet, but I'm not worried.

I give this game a lot of grief about their Customer Service, because it is bad. As far as bug fixing, I find them about average. I don't see a huge difference between them and similarly staffed games. That being said I will have to disagree that they are slower to fix things than other games.
I do think they released with more problems than average though.

I think the OP is more commenting on the patches not really addressing the bigger issues. Reading through them it's things like balancing and adjusting. That's all great but I know for me since beta ended my client crashes/disconnected so much some nights playing isn't even an option. Those are the sorts of issues we should be seeing fixes for in these patches. This game is to new for them to be ignoring instability in the client/servers.

Look at tomorrow's patch notes....lol. You were expecting the test server notes? NOPE! They are fixing ring farming and Zen market stuff. Nuff said. Done with this game. Check back in a few months.
