I run Greater Plaguefire, even after the patch I feel it carries it's weight as one of the best available.
I use GPF on my GF and GV on my GWF... since GPF doesnt stack you only need 1 in a PVE group. Alot of ppl use them so you get gimped a little when u have more than 1 in a group.
Ideally GFs are one of the best GPF users, its great on every class but I feel like you can optimize a group better with the GF having GPF and vorpals on the other classes like GWF and CW (TR is hands down vorpal).
Ive also seen CWs doing mad dps with lightning but it takes a little more planning through runs...

I've found my role as a Sentinel Build off-tank lends extremely well to GPF, as I rarely run with a GF as most parties have seemed to want GWFs more so. Could be just my luck, but I am not arguing... Even guild runs are using less GFs, though we of course go with them whenever we can to keep them fresh and in the loop!
I've also seen a fairly equal amount of GFs using Holy Avenger as GPF, but that is simply an observation based upon my memory... So take it as you will!

I use a lifedrinker enchant on my sword as a GWF. Combine it with the Acolyte companion, the T1 PvP gear for the 4 piece bonus of "heal 10% of your health over 10s while Unstoppable" and the feat "Unstoppable Recovery" (which grants you 5% of your max HP) and you increase your survivability immensely.
The render on the weapon for the lifedrinker enchant isn't to bad either.

Weird, as it's usually the opposite that I've observed. Most times in guild or zone groups, there's almost always a gf and only on occasionally a gwf.
Personally I love the look of Lifedrinker (tested it on preview shard up to perfect) and the perfect version is sick, love the animation.
The massively lower damage scaling on it however really stuck in my craw. (even if it split the % between healing and damage it should be higher than currently.)
GPF has never really struck my fancy and in almost every group I've been in someone else is running it.
Vorpal is really nice if you use a lot of damage oriented encounter abilities, but the fact it only works when you crit evens it out with lighting imo.
Greater Lightning is what I am currently using, finally got enough coal wards to make it and I've got to say that while every once in a while it does chain to something I'd rather it didn't.. generally that's not a problem. The damage from it to me at least seems to be by far the highest. In any kind of AoE situation I'd take lightning over everything else.
My suggestion is to get ahold of some coal wards and some shards of the type you want to test, copy your character over to preview a bunch of times (mail them all to one character to build the enchants) and test it out. It may take a while, but it will save you AD in the long run knowing exactly what you want and how high you can reasonably get it. Preview has a really high character limit.. so go nuts.
