Companion Request: Phase Spider!

Dear Cryptic,

Please add the Phase Spider (not spiderling) as a purple (of course) quality companion. With its 2k+ damage attacks and the ability to teleport out of immediate danger (unlike other companions) make it a valuable addition to the game and one I would love and treasure for as long as I keep playing. :)

I would even consider paying Zen for it(!) if it was reasonably priced.

Yours sincerely,

mr.rubbish

I second this request! I've always liked spiders and like my characters to have them as companions!
A dream to some, a NIGHTMARE to others!

    Lolth be praised!

FWIW, companions will likely *not* have all the attacks, HP, or do the kind of damage enemies do. The full size phase spider is a boss-like category of enemy, IIRC. We basically have peon/minion level companions.

Aww bioshrike, why ya gotta bring the cold, hard light of reality into this? :)

Okay, Spiderlings then, but they'll have to be cheaper! :D

Sorry man! They could use the bigger spider model, and it would be really cool if it did indeed blink around during combat. IIRC, blue and lower tier companions get 2 attacks, and purples get 3. So, a blue phase spider could have, perhaps, a leg-swipe attack which could have a very low chance of knocking the enemy down, and they could make the 2nd power a blink & bite move where the spider blinks next to an enemy and bites them, dealing toxic DoT.

If we're talking a purple spider, then the blink could be a move unto itself which could impart a short stun.

Maybe make the phase spider a bizarre form of guardian?

'Teleport to safety' sounds like a great final defensive power, and they look pretty threatening!

Whoa! I was just reading the the patch notes to the preview shard (looking for news on companion training) and i came across the following (414511-Patch-Notes-NW-5-20130714b-3):

    Economy, Items, and Rewards

New items have been added to the Trade Bar Merchant in Protector's Enclave!
    Mounts: Small Forest Stag

    Companion: Phase Spider
    Fashion Set: Sun Elf Noble
    Gear: Sinister Weapons

If this does happen (I logged into the preview shard but the Trade Bar merchant had none of the 4 items listed above), then it means that I have the power! BWAHAHAHAHA!

But seriously, Tarmalune Trade Bars? What the heck?

Anyway, before this thread is lost to the Abyss/Chasm forever, I'll make my next companion suggestion, this would be for when Cryptic raise the level cap.

    Thoon Hulk!!!!!
Full-sized with all powers intact. Think about it, you know it makes sense! :D

Well, the sun elf noble fashion set is in there. I would assume the fact that other don't show up is an oversight.
