First - yes I know that Rogues are OP etc.
Rogue was my 4-th character that I created (earlier i had CW, GWF, GF) and every other character have Deflection severity 50% (INCLUDING CONTROL WIZARD).
So i just wondered how to make a bit different than all these "infinitely stealthed" rogues. So i wanted to make deflection my primary defensive stat (Halfling -> Cha + Dex). I thought that somewhere in rogue skill tree, there will be some deflection severity stuff, I was a bit disappointed that I only have 3% chance feats, and no severity.
My rogue just hit level 20 and I checked my stats, and was very surprised that my severity is only 25%. Double checked if it is not fault of "lot covering" Clock Tower armor, but no... Rogue have less Deflection severity, than rags wearing wizard...
I feel quite pigeon holed -> 25% damage reduction is laughable -> I probably would be able to reach around 50% deflection chance by endgame, with some deflection chance, but why should I...
It is like carrot that is spoiled inside -> look halfling have Deflection bonuss -> halflings are naturally good rogues -> Look rogue have 2 stat that increase deflection -> Ha ha ha you fell for it -> Rog have half of effective deflection chance, as other classes (that mean all deflection stuff from your equipment is worth half as other classes).
I don't understand why Deflection isn't 75% severity like crit.
It's what makes the stats pretty underwhelming for stacking compared to Defense. I mean sure it's nice when you get lucky and avoid some burst or something, but that's no reason to stack it. I was really interested in doing the same idea but with GWF since they can potentially get a stupid amount of deflection as well. But at only 50% severity....... eehhh....
I'm pretty sure it's 50% for all classes btw, you must have looked at the wrong thing.
You're getting confused by the misguiding number on deflection severity. Rogues actually only take 25% of the damage dealt on a successful deflect. So deflection is actually better for rogues than other classes.

NOPE...
It clearly states: "How much damage you avoid when you deflect attack" (it is NOT: how much damage you get)
yeah, I agree with snuggle.
While I first thought deflection was terrible due to that 25% note.
Making use of Impossible to catch, I am clearly not taking much damage at all when its up.
So this means that my GF takes 75% of the damage deflected or is the tooltip only broken for TR's?
they take 50% as it says. Also makes sense to give that tanky class less deflection severity. Trying out deflection myself and what i can add is that most of the stats come from your ability scores, so as one guy earlier mentioned, you should get as much charisma and dexterity as you can. one feat that gives 3% passive and the class feature 'Skillful Infiltrator' (i think) gives 3 deflection along with crit and movement. Unbuffed, i have 40% deflection, i could get more with enchants and with gear would require me to lose out on arm. pen. and power i gain from my companion

Tooltips are there to believe them.
@Criptic (not that someone will read this)
Still you could get that repaired...
Rogues Take 25% of the damage when deflecting?
I.e:
1000 damage taken normally
Deflected damage - only 250 taken?
That's correct.

Its almost certainly 25% damage taken on deflect.

does it loose out greatly on DPS without str?
is 40% even felt? XD
