About me:

I need to say, that this is my first MMORPG. So, it's quite possible that there's much I do not know, but I try my best to change that =)
3 weeks ago I finally got my DC to 60 and realized that she sucks. PVP is dreadful but I do it for the ADs and I've done 3 dungeons which frustrated me. There are good DCs, so it must be my fault.... that I know, but a properly skilled DC is helpfull and I'm sure she's not. Luckily, I have a free respec token, so I have the chance to improve her a bit.

The problem is, I do not know how... I've read as good as every guide there is but a) most of them were pre-patch; b) none was what I searched for.
I'm not the best cleric out there, that's for sure and currently I'm rolling a CW that I can handle a lot better but nevertheless, I want to have a decent DC, she's my first ever toon and I'm fond of her.

So, I want my DC to be a helpfull asset to a group. I'm not looking for DPS. I have a CW for that and honestly... she's a cleric, she should help, not dominate the team (and yes I know that in original D&D a DC is a HAMSTER^^). "Proper" heals and buffs/debuff are what I'm looking for and a way to be less "squishy".

So, you probably want to know what she's like ;-)

Wood Elf; Ability Score: 18 Str / 23 Wis / 19 Cha

Powers:

At-will:
Astral Seal [3/3] - I spam this in pvp and pve
Lance of Faith [2/3]
Brand of Sun [3/3] - my other main power.
Sacred Flame [3/3]

I don't really use the others, apart from Sacred Flame, when I need to do some damage to survive.

Encounter:
Sun Burst [3/3] - used it a lot till end game.
Healing Word [3/3] - I'd die without it^^
Searing Light [2/3] - I never liked it, but points have to go somewhere.
Chains of Blazing Light [3/3] - liked it a lot but didn't kill and it was a bit boring after a while :-/

Daunting Light [3/3] - well, if you aim right it is a nice blast, otherwise it's kind of useless and takes a lot of time to place it right (for me at least).

Frogemaster's Flame [3/3] - this is my standard encounter in pvp.
Prophecy of Doom [3/3] - I use it from time to time, but honestly I don't know what use it has.
Bastion of Health [3/3] - I use this instead of FF in pve.
Break the Spirit [3/3] - what does one do with that?
Divine Glow [0/3] - I never even tired it :-S I think that was a mistake.
AS [3/3] - the standart one, and I don't like it at all.

Regarding AS:
PVP: the teammates want it but they do not bother to stay in it, apart from some CW. I usually get blasted out of it from a GF/GWF or I dodge and leave the circle myself ... I think it is not the right thing for me, I'm good at dodging and running :D

Dailys:

I use Divine Armor (pvp/pve), Hammer of Fate (pvp) and Hallowed Ground (pve).

Class Feature:

now, many of you will probably think I'm plain stupid, I've never put points in anything other as:

Divine Fortune [3/3] - CF number 1
Healer's Lore [3/] -CF number 2

I'm aware that this was a mistake, Sooth is not really usefull but the others might be...

So, now you know what powers I use. And I know, that for the best results your feats need to be right, which they are not: I've only listed the ones I put points in.

Feats:
Healing Action [2/5]
Greater Fortune [3/3]
Holy Resolve [2/3]
Domain Synergy [5/5]
Repurpose Soul [3/3]
Bountiful Fortune [5/5]

Paragon Feats: I've specked Righteous which I GREATLY regret! I thought it helps in pvp...

Virtuous:
Desperate Renewal [5/5]
Power of the Sun [5/5]

Righteous:
Righteous Rage of Tempus [5/5]
Ethereal Boon [5/5]
Power of Opression [5/5]
Healing Step [5/5]
Sovereign Justice [1/1]

Regarding gear:
I use the War Prophet gear, obviously... I've never done dungeons seriously.

I know I have to get my stats right, too. And I found out that Crit is important. But if anyone of you has some time to spend, I'm thankful for an explanation. It is much one has to keep in mind when building a character. A bit too much for me.
I do not intend to be the best, I want to be a decent casual player. I don't have the money for Zen, I don't have a lot of time to play, I study chemistry, that is time consuming. But I intend to have some fun playing and I'd be really glad if you guys (and girls) could help me out ;-)

English is not my motherlanguage, so if some things sound odd or awkward I'm sorry, but I tried my best :)

Thank you!

Most of the guides have been updated post patch and the ones that haven't didn't need it because not much changed feat wise. You can't really go wrong with destik or unspecified builds. And read the synergistic feat thread to see what feats and powers work with each other.

You can't really have a perfect pvp build and a perfect Pve build so just pick one you can live with. Having said that t1 dungeons don't really need a good build. You really only have to get specific when you pvp and do t2.

Save up ad, there's a lot of cheap gear in the ah. Generally speaking crit/recovery/defense are good stats.

Best advice is to play around a lot more with your current build to you get comfortable with the class and then pick your guide to follow. A lot of the things they say in there will make more sense when you've played around with the class yourself.

I think your biggest fault is that you are using war prophet gear. Now matter how you reset your cleric I don't think you will do much better with it.

I went with destik's guide and gained instantely 700 gearscore and 900 HP wihtout changing my equip =) I can say, that made me happy. I also bought 2 pieces Beacon of Faith gear and 2 rings from the AH. They increased my stats and now I can poudly provide a gearscore of 9,600 =) I still need more crit and defense and I'm sure I'll get there.
I did 3 dungeons today, it was a lot of fun and I feel more confident.

Thank you both for your advise, it was great help for me!

The best way to improve in this game is to get better gear.

Unfortunately, the cleric powers are not very intuitive, too. There are alot of "micro" synergy feats which alone seem to be worthless but in combination are the only way to maximize performance. Perfectionism of the build is - opposite as for other classes - quite a MUST for clerics. There are however alot of feats which are just worthless ... or even less.

PS: I realy hate this "micro" synergy, because it is was makes the cleric weak.
