Need more Action Bars

ztdeltaztdelta Member, Neverwinter Beta Users, Neverwinter Guardian Users Posts: 2 Arc User
For god's sake this game needs alternative action bars. Hate having to swap out my skills everytime I go into pvp. Pressing P everytime, dragging the window up because it blocks the Daily skills and swapping out 4 spells every single time is getting really tiring.

Preset alternate bars would be a fantastic feature.

Preset alternate bars would be a fantastic feature.

This would be nice. I don't really need more hotbars cluttering my screen, but a faster way to switch skills in and out of my bar without having to go to the large, clunky character powers interface would be great.

This is a good idea; have several presets that you can switch between, and just implement a cooldown like as if you had just changed a power...

At least 3 or 4, all with keybinds, so that I could do something like:
    Normal
    PvP
    Immune to skill x
    Immune to skill y

Agreed. The ability to have some presets and change them quickly for trash, bosses, or PvP would be nice. I'd think it would only be useable out of combat or while abilities are not on cooldown though. So it doesn't get abused to allow players to switch powers anytime they wanted.

I mean we can do this already. It is just a hassle switching one power at a time.

I came in here just to post this same request. Please add the option to set up more hotbars. I don't need anything more on the screen, just the ability to switch between some presets. With my CW, I have a set of powers that I use for AoE damage, a set for crowd control, and a set for single target damage. It really gets old having to drag each power in one at a time. And it's almost impossible to do in a dungeon between fights without wasting a lot of time.

I'm pretty sure that it has been said that this is something that they would like to add at some point in the future, but presently there are more important priorities

It would also be great to have a slot for the center mouse button (mouse wheel).

Is it such a hard thing to do? Harder than a new companion?

It's not a matter of difficulties, it is a matter of task priorities.. and it is not a high priority at the moment..

Necroed because it deserves a second look. Either I'm missing a huge request thread somewhere, or I'd be really surprised there hasn't been more request for this. Please give us an alternative ui.

I strongly agree. I hate how much of a hassle it is to switch between my PvP and PvE modes. Specifically on my Cleric character, I detest having to switch out all of my Dmg encounters and Daily Powers for my healing ones when I enter a dungeon/skirmish/PvP, it would be a lot easier to just have another action bar.

I would like to add my +1 to this, as well. I think just about any class can benefit from this, but I mostly focus on CW, DC and HR, myself. Switching trays could be so much easier if this was implemented. Not saying to push it, I'm in no rush, just saying it would be a good improvement.

I would like something like this in game. Yeah it's not a priority but still would be great to have.

Something like neverwinter nights 2 had. An action bar that had a scrolling bar to the side that let you choose which preset action bar you had created.

NWN 2 had 10, but I'd be happy with 2, but 4 would be great.

    +1 for this.

I'd like to have at least three preset skill bars: one for general PvE, one for bosses, and one for PvP.

If the skills go on a 30 second CD after switching, yes i'd be pro, towards this suggestion. Otherwise it would just be too exploitable and that's the least thing the game needs right now.

    The idea is great.

I suggest that we don't get cooldown on this.

Power slots being not enough in many situations is a headache. Although switching to another preset to use a power for a situation is not the perfect solution, it at least solves the issue at some degree.

I'm okay with cooldown on a specific slot across all presets. For example, if you use the first encounter power slot and the power is on 10 seconds cooldown, then within the following 10 seconds, all other presets' first encounter power slots are on 10 seconds cooldown, too.

i said 30 sec CD, because i counted how many seconds it takes me to entirely switch out every skill on my bar, lol. 30 sec may be too harsh. 20 seems ok.

Tbh, it would be a good idea, in my opinion, if you were only able to swap present trays out of combat. No CD, but out of combat to prevent CD cycling.
    Just my view, though.

For gameplay this is the #1 thing I want outside of making things work as intended for all classes (balance can come after everything respects crits/ArP/CC/etc like its supposed to).

It just needs to be blocked during combat and PvP.

    4 Options would be great.
    Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin
    Obsidian Oath - Warlock
A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.

Totally agree, the devs need to see this need. I would personally like to see more attack slots also. 1 or 2 more, structure it in such a way that we can have broad fighting techniques per class.

To resolve the issue of changing fighting bars all the time you only need to make it so it has a cast time, and cannot be used in PVP arenas and during combat.

I actually felt the need for this a few weeks back, i'm so glad everyone felt it too, this would be a great addition.
Altough you need to establish a full cooldown of around 20 seconds so people don't start using all different kinds of skills, wich would change the mechanics of the game (wich i wouldn't mind by the way, it's just a warning as how this must be treated with care).

I really like this game but really you need to put in action bars sooner than later. If there isn't resources to do this, why not make it a Curse project and have players help? There some good coders out here and you could sign off on the final product.
