  Ranger may be one of the classes coming up with the next expansion which should come out about August 20th, so I hear anyways.

  This could be 100% correct, not only will the Drow race be introduced but I have a feeling that if you look at the race/stat bonuses, there's also an option for +2 Dex in there with another stat. Archers/Rangers are (from my experience) Dex based. If you take PWI (Perfect World Internation) for example it is the same here. Dex, crits, ranged... powerful toons in both PvP and PvE.
  
  To be honest I'm curious about the upcoming content in August, having a Ranger class will certainly be a nice add on. Possibly some nice debuffs on the skills as well, all the more reason to keep our fingers crossed.

  I thought they previewed the Ranger already as a dual weildling melee class?

  There was a thread where they showed class icon extracted from the game assets (so it's already in the game, just waiting to be activated) - and there are clearly a bow and some arrows on it.
