Where are my Zen when I use Ultimate Game Card?

Hey fellow gamers:

I have always either used my CC or the Perfect World pre-paid cards when purchasing Zen. But with the recent promotion of 15% zen I decided to try using a pre-paid $20.00 Ultimate Gaming Card.

So I followed the instructions on the back of the card went to their site and hit "redeem" at The Neverwinter icon and it brought me to my Neverwinter Gaming Page, and of course no further instructions at all.

So I went to where I usually go and chose the UGC from the list, chose the amount of the card went next a small window popped-up hit my email address and verified it entered the code, and low and behold it said I still owed $2.10 after confirming. Guess that is a tax or an exchange rate which never happens with Perfect World Cards even though I purchase them in Canadian dollars (I am Canadian).................so now what do I do. I got an email from Ultimate Pay which says simply "welcome please fill in for free 100 Ultimate points", the link is down, no phone support, no forum support etc....What a load of bull!

Please those of you not as naive as me, suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

Hmmm well I am an american, and the sequence here is choose UGC while in purchase zen area of PWE. A pop up comes up that then states it is from UGC and asks for the redemption code. Once that is accepted and approved, the screen goes back to PWE area. Choosing to go to 'my wallet' reveals your zen.

SO, from that it sounds like you may have a function that needs to cover the exchange rate. Odd to me. Instead of you paying more, it seems to me it would be easier to say dues to the canadian exchange rate today your amount of zen received is X instead of Y.

Thanks but I still have nothing and it has been over 5 hours.

I feel jipped as they is not even a way to contact anyone to fix this. I mean all and all I lost $17.90 and no where can I see it showing.

Fool me once but not twice. At least with a CC I would have had a fix almost immediately via the CC Company but this way, totally feel ripped off. If only their would be a warning on this site to Canadian or Foreign currency players.

Well 2000 zen costs $20USD. You spent $20CAD which is only $18USD..... Not sure what you're complaining about, you still owe $2USD if you want then zen.

Listen I understand what you are saying but what I am saying is "where is my $18.00 worth", don't see it anywhere!

And if I purchase a Perfect World pre-paid card for $20.00 Canadian I get $20.00 worth of Zen, no taxes, no conversion and of course I have it. This Ultimate Game Card shows me nothing for my purchase.

Plus they say follow instructions, where the heck are the instructions when it send you here, none whatsoever from Perfect World. So right now, I do not have my money, Perfect World does not have my money and God Know where Ultimate Game Card is hiding it?

I would be willing to add that $2.00 + but where the heck do I add it and how. NO Phone support or email support whatsoever for Ultimate Game Card. Tried registering to make a request\ticket with them and their site is down, how convenient?

Thanks so much I certainly appreciate you finding this for me, now that was helpful and certifying that I got screwed.................

WARNING: ALL Canadians and looks like Aussies also, DON'T PURCHASE these Ultimate Gaming Cards to get that Bonus Zen as you loose..................Never had this problem with Perfect World Cards and will speak to my Friends that work at EB Games and tell them to remind their customers of the risk in purchasing UGC.

Now if I could only find a way to get my $17.90 back from them or at least in Zen..............

I didn't get my bonus zen either. Could not connect to support to create a ticket. tried to for several days and gave up. I wont be participating in their promos ever again. Sure I will buy zen when I have a desire to buy zen, but wont be suckered by their promos again.

Glad I am not the Only One with this problem but not happy others have lost money like I did.

Still can't contact UGC and still no Zen.

    What a rip-off!

Perfect World should pull away from these stammers or at least post a Warning that it is only good if you are a US citizen.

Just to keep some others in the loop.

I contacted a Major Customer Service Manager at EB/Gamestop in Toronto and voiced my complaint about the UGC and how we Canadians (and some Aussies) are literally getting screwed for taxes (when we should not as we are purchasing outside our country) and they have/will sent out an email to all their retailers to check to make sure there are no other complaints and that they will be looking into the matter.

The Manager was more upset that UGC has no customer support whatsoever and that I and probably others got jipped.

If Perfect World had my money, then at least I would have a tree to bark at but right now, I am left out to dry and I am sure many others.

BTW: Purchased this afternoon a $25.00 Perfect World Card and entered it no problem, got $25.00 worth, no tax or cross border deductions. The only thing is that I am not eligible for the Bonus Zen with this card.

Wow, just got a call from EB Games and they will try and get this sorted out for me or maybe even refund me the entire purchase.

Guess the squeaky wheel get the oil.

On a side note, it bugs me though as they are the source of the sale but did not generate the problem. They were not at all happy by UGC not having any kind of customer service rapport. Wonder if they will still want to carry their cards after this?

I bought a AU$20 Ultimate Game Card prepay in Australia to take advantage of bonus ZEN offer.

Had same issues as everyone else, when you try to redeem for US$20 it asks for $2.xx in exchange rate fees.

Email exchange with PWE, they said buy more credit to cover difference.

Bought US$5 worth of Ultimate Pay points via eBay to cover difference.

Went to redeem but said original card already redeemed.

Email exchange with UltimatePay including sending photo of UGC, store receipt. They created new PIN for me to redeem.

Redeemed US$20 amount 5 minutes ago and received 2300 Zen in my PWE account, so all good.

All up, a bit of pain, took 5 days with all the emails but eventually got through.

go to ultimatepay.com to start the support call

Probably won't do it again but glad got there in the end

Thanks Viking for a step by step wlakthrough adn glad you got it fixed.

My question to you is "how did you contact UGC"?

This is the message I get when I try to create an account to submit a ticket:
    Important Messages

System error. Please try again. This has been going on since yesterday afternoon (over 30 hours now).

What I will do for now is simply wait for EB Games to call me back and see what they come up with. Otherwise? Like heck if I am going to add another $5.00 to cover the taxes when the cards ONLY are available in $20.00 denominations here or should I say where I shop. Anyways it is not standard practice or maybe not legal for another country to charge taxes for a good that is purchased with Canadian Currency in Canada and the item is sequentially used or activated in the USA or any other country.

Perfect World Pre-Paid Cards do not charge me taxes, I never pay taxes on my PS Card, nor my XBox360 points cards but Nintendo does charge me taxes on my purchases but their store (virtual one) is based in Canada and only charges the taxes relative to your province on checkout of a purchased item, NOT when you enter it on the Nintendo store.

    Try

    https://site.ultimatepay.com/

    create your support account here
    http://ultimatepay.custhelp.com/app/utils/create_account

Create a support account and submit as much info as you can.

Its an exchange rate issue, you are buying a AU$20 card and trying to redeem a US$20 offer on PWE.
It was more an inconvenience having that little extra to pay.

I doubt I would do it again probably easier to pay directly with paypal but wanted the bonus.
