ok so i have been using stalwart set for about a month now and im just wondering about
switching to a timless set. i wanna see some videos of the timeless set in action critting.
i wanna know how much squishier in pvp you actually will be with it. i currently have
a couple pieces of timeless in my bank and i have been debating on selling them
or collecting a whole set? someone who has tried both sets give me any feedback?

If you want to be "pro" like all the other GF, go with Stalwart. Otherwise some people will tell you timeless is better for pvp. If you really know wtf you're doing, don't use either set.

Guild mate has - Timeless Set + G.Tene's - Destroys in PvP

Friend has - Stal Set + G.Tene's - Destroys in PvP

I have Knight Cap Set + Rad Rank 7 - Destroy both Timeless & Stal set players.

All sets have their advantages/disadvantages. There is no 1 set that's greater than all, they just allow different enchant/builds to optimize their dmg potential.

Better and even cheaper than every set: Just get blue/purple items with perfect ArPen/Crit/Recov :D

    5500 Power
    2100 Crit
    1700 ArPen
    1700 Recovery

    by using rank6 enchantments.

Dont get more than 24% ArPen! In PvP you reduce most enemies armor to 0 and in PvE highest damage reductions seems to be 24%. And if im right, its not possible to reduce armor lower than 0 by ArPen. Skills, Enchantments, ... are able to do so. Well, 24% ArPen is bad in PvP vs GF and/or GWF other GF or GWF will ignore you, they'll run directly to the CW/Cleric/TR because they need to much time to kill you.

The next things i'll do is upgrading my enchantments to lvl8-9 to get +500-600 Power -> Conquerer Feats= +1000-1200 Power. Thats enough.

The following lines are describing the disadvantiges of the most common GF sets in PvP:

The main problem of timeless hero:
    No crit! No ArPen!
Getting crits by encounters? well... thats bad because the first encounters will have a very low chance to hit critically. Thats very bad at all!

The main problem of stalwart bulwark:
    No crit! No ArPen!
Getting power by hits? Well, its fine to get 12k power or even more power. But if you are running to a Node and there are 2 Players, you have low damage, low crit chance and very low ArPen. Getting the Stacks is quite hard.

Advantige of normal "non set build":
The sets above provides less average power, arpen and crit then the non set build. First hits are much harder because you dont need to get any stacks of any buff. You cann just go in and hit them hard!

Actually im using high general helmet and shoes to get 450 ArPen as Set Bonus (+power+recovery). All my other items are normal purple and/or blue items.

But well, if you are wearing 7 greater tenebrous enchantments, then the set doesnt matter at all.

In PvE Stalwart and Timeless hero are much better than in PvP, but the normal, set-less method is still very good.
    No leaver penality in PvP!

    And here is the reason:

If you want people to stay for the match end even when you're sitting on a 600-10 score and you've decided to be ***-hats and spawn-camp, you need to give them a reason. Punishing them is not the answer. That's just pouring salt-acid into an already bleeding wound.

I still hold that Stalwarts is BiS for both PVE and PVP. The off set is VERY strong too BUT it doesnt have the survivability Stalwarts has. That being said, if you ONLY care about damage output, then off set is better. If you care about all around performance, stalwarts will win. The 4 piece set is insane damage and if you can enchant and get arp high on your rings/belt/neck you can perform very well.

To the above, rushing a node 2v1, you can bet a rogue or CW (or anyone) will "dink away" at your health pool, you can either block or eat it, either way you can bet your butt youll get attacked fast enabling you with unparalled power in ANY set.

Also the Stalwart set will help you survive against 2 ppl... Just my opinion...

As an upcoming GF (53) would you fellas mind giving some guidance on what work/dungeons/crafting I can do to help get on the road to a properly geared toon? I lean more towards PvP particularly when the PvE is done. I am new to all these armor sets, configs, and am a bit overwhelmed.

For example, what dungeons do I need to be hitting? My gear doesn't even compare, obviously, all quest or dropped greens and a few blues so far.

    Any help is appreciated.

Some players will ignore you until everyone else is dead, if they notice you're wearing Stalwart set. That's why transmuting an armor onto it is very good.
