Hello, awhile back during beta I had leveled a CW to about level 52 using the renegade tree, I'm a tiefling for obvious reasons.
So I stopped playing my CW and started to focus on other characters, eventually I discovered a map "the best map ever" and went from 52-60 in about 8 days of off-handedly doing this and praying every day and got to 60. Now I have no idea what to do! I realize I kind of screwed myself over there.
Does anyone here have any tips on how I should spec? I heard renegade is great for t2s/castle never, should I leave shield in my tab to push things off cliffs? I've done some research and I know the first thing I need to worry about is getting my recovery to around 3.5k, I just need help guys

- If you stay Renegade, crit is also obviously important. Diminishing returns kick in at 2K there, but again pushing up a bit will be helpful for you.
- I personally like the Thurmawiz, which is more of a de-buffer than a crit machine. You can gain a lot down that tree and still take the AP gain feats from Renegade. You'll lose damage on crit severity, but your primary role in a T2 group is not damage.
- In most dungeons, your role on boss fights is mass CC. On easier fights, you use Arcane Singularity as often as possible to control and kill with AE. When you drop an AS, you can Shield blast after about 1 second. Shield generates a lot of AP back, and since you just dumped your meter, it helps a ton. Follow-up with a Time Stop so when they land they don't come right after your un-shielded self. Dump whatever other AE you have as they are all crowded together, and you'll be ready for another AS very quickly. Rinse, repeat.
- On the toughest fights, you use Arcane Singularity to control and punt over cliffs. So getting AP is highly important. Shield is indeed your friend on the top tier fights, but you don't necessarily need to Tab slot it. I personally have Chill Strike in my Tab.
That said, whenever the guides say something is mandatory, other than specific statistics, you can just ignore that. CW is not like other classes. You can build it however you like, use whatever powers you like, and still be highly effective.
About the only two things all CW agree on, in general are:
1. Get around 3K Recovery (or more).
2. At level 60 (not so useful before), get used to the placement of Arcane Singularity and timing pushes from outside it using Shield.
Even the last one is not really required until the very last boss of the game in Castle Never, it is just something that it is worth becoming good at because it can speed up runs by pushing mobs into deadly environments.
