suggestion: put a captcha before pvp = bots no more!

As the title says - captcha on battle start would make pvp much less annoying, and could actually get players to care about the matchups. can't complete = kick, new player in

PS: anyone seen the rogue bot with perma block/dodge? they're stepping up their game

Cryptic is too lazy to implement any real solution to solve the bot problem in both PvP and PvE farming.

Bots farm glory, to buy BOE items, to place in the AH, to sell with AD

AD which cryptic can sell via zen...

If that happens I will be cut out of pvp. I cannot read the stupid and idiotic captcha boxes due to sight problems. I have to have my son read them to me.

    get new eyes?
try the audio option, it looks like a little speaker thingy.
now if you say that doesn't work, I will start to have serious doubt that you are in fact a human.
    are you a reptilian?

Captcha before every single match would annoy me almost as much as bots.

    That would be so annoying...
But what they could create is a random pop up Not-a-Bot confirmation (a button that appears after than you join the queue and before than the team is ready to enter, in random locations and cannot be modified with the UI, also with a short duration and that appears in a relatively random moment).

Although, that wouldn't be needed if their game design wouldn't be so cheap.

well, if you reduce 1 by 50%, then youll have to round up anyway and youre back to 1, doesnt change much :)

and bots can be improved too and they will be improved if there are captchas added...not to mention that around 80% less real players would PVP cause captchas are annoying as hell

That won't work either. There is a program that can automate stuff with scripts and EVEN read the read. EVE online has a mining bot (I remember seeing it on youtube) it can scan rocks and mine area (rock/asteroids usually don't spawn in exact spot) it can "scan" the area and run certain script as needed.

Having a button "moved" or "randomly" spawn will just annoy the players not the bots.
To grow old is inevitable, to grow up is optional.
Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.

It might be a good idea though it would require a solution for disabled players.

I have to cycle though them about 10 to 15 times just to be able to reasonably guess at one of them. At science museums I fail at one or two of the eye dot type tests.

I'm the same. I'm colourblind and I find reading some of them quite difficult.

I'm glad they allow you to cycle through them to find one you can read.

don't you understand, it doesn't matter what most of them are or aren't, as long as a couple can read and get through it, everyone who uses them will typically go to offsites and download whatever script they need to use to be able to use them too

If you want to get rid of bots in PvP you need a PvP player ranking system, at least the bots will play poorly and be badly ranked. If you want to even get rid of the bots at the poorly ranked levels you fail to reward them and maybe even start charging them upon their bad performances.

Without a PvP ranking system, you could levy a fine on the worst performing characters in matches but if there aren't any bots those poorly performing characters may well be the ones that enabled everyone else to win their match.

What about having the starting area for pvp on a ledge with moving platforms above lava that insta-kills.

Human players would be able to work out the different patterns to jump across them into the game, the bots would just jump all over the place and constantly kill themsleves on the lava.

The platforms could also be designed to be impossible to climb back up the other way so it should also fix players camping the spawn camps.

hah yeah, eventually you'd have pvp games with 5 bots against 5 bots :)

in any case i think is a good option if you fail with the caption you will move back again to the queue, this will reduce parties with bots, at some point you will have some lucky but that was able to enter with the caption but i think those captionare a good idea, or something similar like logic questions like 2+2 or what color is the sky, if you cannot read you will probably not play pvp XD cause you are not going to be able to see anything there XD if you are color blind and the sky is grey for you then use logic, in any case would be an easy solution that most can live with so to avoid bots XD i prefer to use that than wait like 10 min in a 1000-0 match that do not give any points

    wouldnt get rid of bots
they would just die over and over, just like they are doing it now

    nothing would change
