Chat Bannned?

Guess I am too used to games like City of Heroes, Secret world, and Age of Wushu.
Was typing an OC response in the standard format, and then the hammer fell.
Since this game I guess isn't RP friendly. Is there a proper response for Out of character remarks (If you are RPg).?

Waiting for response from support which hopefully will be less then a week. (last two never answered)
Fun game wish I could play more.

The ban is only 24 hours. It will be lifted long before CS responds.

Welcome to the wonderful world if the player run chat system. Get enough folks to report or ignore you and blammo, silenced for 24 hours. While effective at muting spammers, it is also a joyous tool for griefers. I suspect the latter is what got ya.

    Thanks sockmunkey.
Odd that game hates OoC response or OC remark.
Guess back to Age of Wushu.

It wasn't the game. it was another player or a group of players. It could of been folks trying to ruin RP, or you could of done something annoying. Either way, players basically flag players with demerits each time they ignore or report spam someone. Those demerits never seem to expire and if you get enough demerits, chat ban.

Its a horrible system. Open to the worst kinds of abuse. But it is a mainstay of all Cryptic games. There has been talk about revamping it, but im not holding out much hope of that. The system has been around for far to long now.

Yeah it was the game that did it.
It was in party chat. Gave me error when I sent first time.
Sent second, and the hammer fell.

That would be an autoban for using a word in their dictionary of commonly used gold seller words.
    Possibly even the word "gold".

It's a 2-strike system. Ignoring the warning was where you got hit.

Hopefully they'll be able to unban you rather quickly.
In the future, if you get a warning, make sure to heed it. ;)

Oh ya. Thats not a chat ban. But a full on game ban. It wont expire on its own. You will need CS help to have it fixed.

This system sucks more then the chat ban system. Say the wrong thing on any channel, including private tells and it assumes you are a gold seller. The system then punts ya.

Well, it also doesn't help that many players, when expressing they are looking for group in general chat, type it in a similar fashion as the gold sellers do.

I almost made a thread about this yesterday after I almost accidentally reported someone because at first glance, their LFG looked exactly like a gold seller.

I believe it's working as intended. Apparently, this is the right way (cost-wise) to handle the gold seller issues.

Some of the posters above have hit on the correct solution to your matter. Unfortunately, this is only a matter that CS can resolve.

I'll have to close this thread due to RoC and prohibition of discussing bans.
