I took Leadership although I guess I should of took mailsmithing. The leadership one if giving me astral coins so I am happy with that. For a companion, I took the fighter although maybe I should of took the dog?
that's cause the cleric is so very broken at the moment that the best current profession for a cleric is to reroll as anything else... I'd go with alchemy, leadership gives you AD which are nice but you really wont need leveling exp., metalsmithing will let you some cleric items but for the time and cost to upgrade it up one has to ask if its even worth it ... those are the three to choose between (you can view what you could make under each one at high levels by unchecking hide what you don't have materials for and what you can't make at lower levels)
Mailsmithing will let you make things you can wear. But you'll get better armor and such more easily from playing through the content. What you will only get through crafting is pants and shirts, but it's not really worth the time to level up the profession for ~200 stats. You're better off just buying the fancy shirt and pants from the auction house and being done with it.
Alchemy I'm not sure as I haven't gotten far in it. But it seems like it's only worth it to eventually work your way up to dyes. (I don't have a big need for potions, and buying them is nearly the only use for gold anyways . . . .)
So that leaves Leadership. It's a nice little boost to AD or gold. Not enough to be buying gear off the auction house, but enough to keep you in ID scrolls. You get XP too, but you level so fast that I could do without another source of that.
