I'm not talking just superficial annoyances. There are two bugs I've run into that are just plain horrifying.
First one goes something like this... you need some Scrolls of Identification. So you go to the Wondrous Bazaar Lady. Shop menu comes up. You double click the Scroll of Identification. Quantity menu comes up:
You click "OK" naively assuming all is well in the world. Suddenly:
[Inventory Notify] You have spent 2,500 Astral Diamonds.
[Inventory Notify] You have purchased [3x Pack of Large Party Poppers]
...
Excuse me? What? WHAT?!
And don't misunderstand, this is not a chat message error. It actually purchased the Party Poppers. And actually deducted 2.5k AD. And didn't purchase the Scrolls that it said I was purchasing when I clicked "OK."
Now... I've had this happen many times, especially when purchasing profession resources from the vendor. Say I go to buy 100 Solvents and it gives me 100 Brimstone instead. And, every time, I've questioned my sanity and thought maybe I wasn't paying attention. But, this time... this time, I know it's the interface that's screwed up.
I know because, luckily for me, those abominable Popper Packs aren't a stackable item. And so, if you go and double click them to buy them, you don't get a quantity dialog. You just get an Ok/Cancel confirmation dialog. And so it only bought one of them instead of 10. Could have been worse. Could have been much worse.
Now I know this bug must be hard to track because it's rather random. But, for the love of god, sit an intern or two down and don't let them get up till it's fixed. Chain them to the desk if you have to. It's for the greater good!
I mean... what if it hadn't randomly decided I should be buying Party Poppers instead of ID Scrolls? What if it had decided I wanted to buy 10x [Training Runestone, Rank 3] for 50k AD each? That would have been half a million AD that I'd never get back.
Like... I don't even want to use vendors anymore. Especially ones that use currencies more valuable than Gold.
Who knows how much I will lose next time this happens.
That's horror story number one. If you want more, and worse, here's horror story two:
The Mailbox. It got a bit of a workover with the big balance patch. I like most of the changes. I don't like that it wipes the contents of the Compose tab if you momentarily switch to a different tab. It used to save it. I also don't like that it shows that big, red warning saying items are still attached to a mail you're trying to delete when you just collected the items and there's obviously nothing attached anymore.
But those are all just annoyances. Here's the horrifying part:
Say one of your auctions sold. The "You've Got Mail!" button lights up. Sweet deal.
You go to the mailbox and collect your freshly earned AD. Ka-Ching.
The now empty "Auction Sold" mail is useless, so you hit the [Delete] button. Confirmation dialog pops up:
========================================
Are you sure you want to delete this message?
You move your mouse to the "OK" button. And, just as you're about to click it... Another one of your auctions sells.
Can you guess what happens next? That's right... the new "Auction Sold" mail takes focus away from the empty one that you had selected for deletion. And when your click on that "OK" button goes through, it's the new mail that gets deleted... along with all the shiny AD attached to it. And you're left staring at an inbox with a single, empty and used auction mail staring back at you.
Fabulous.
Please fix.

The purchase problem seems to be related with which item has its box actually highlighted. I had the same problem but trying to buy solvents and some green thread stuff. Apparently, the thread stuff was highlighted while I double clicked the solvent. Got the message for the solvent, selected the amount, clicked Ok and... bought something different (and more expensive).
To save space, let me add my complaints about interface and dyes. Not "serious business" as the issue with the Auction House mails (scary stuff) but still annoying.
No scrolling? And the limited list that it shows depend on which order you have the dye bottles in the bank? Really? XD
And what happens after just buying some bottles from the ZEN Store and checking that same list?
The interface in general is pretty bad and is one of my biggest criticisms of the game.
Example: Last night I was trying to programme a mouse button for push-to-talk voice comms (using Teamspeak) and despite completely unbinding it from anything in the game it would not stop activating 'L' for Home page, despite that the fact that the option in Key Bindings was 'L' key only and the secondary option was blank.
I still find the whole design pretty bad in terms of interface. Having to use ALT to switch off mouse-look, and you can't pan around at all without changing where you are aiming which is very annoying when situational awareness is hampered by this.

That's happened to me several times. Inverting the message order so that new messages are at the bottom would fix it methinks.

I suspected as much about the mail deletion issues. I once deleted an empty mail and lost new AD mail. Ever since then I never delete my mails.
Thanks for the confirmation.
