Is everything being purchased through the use of cash, or am I doing something extremely wrong cause that stuff is way beyond my in game economy just for one thing not to mention for everything and upon various characters... (how much cash does all of that even cost, seems like it would be real dollar fortune)

People made millions out off exploits ( CN, AH, enchants, spider temple ). Some of the usual exploits are still there thow, havent been fixed and i suppose there are a few more like those that are in place but noone is talking about.

Farm Castle Never Spider boss. Kill it in 15 minute run, get 500K-1 Million BIS ring, (For BIS Pet, too!) rinse/repeat. All day, all day long. (We even skip delves on occasion to do it.)

Rushed crafting to 20 at the beginning, played the AH and continue to do so. Never been in a T2 dungeon.

People haven't made that much ad from Spider Temple till now since they have to do it legit. Pre-patch, t2 armor sold for dirt.

Yes, I've made alot of ad from spider, but it's because others no longer can exploit it.

Mostly from the cash shop...Ive seen people with founders pack (for starters) with exceptionally bad gear enchanted entirely with ranks 7 and 8s at random with the most ridiculus epic enchants on weapons, therefore proving they know nothing about how a character is well built (and how gearscoring is broken) and just pulled out their wallets to reach idiotic high gear scores...How can someone have Ancient Weapon and off hand, can barely run a t1 and logs in a couple of times a week for a couple of hours? Answer - fat credit card... Some people just have the mony to spend....this is just the p2w nature of this game... people with the monies to buy stuffies from the cash shop will have the upper hand above the rest (gear wise) with little to no playtime or knowledge about the game....
Of course there are the exploiters too but to exploit at least you need some kind of knowledge of how the game works...

T2 armor sold for plenty BEFORE every single person knew about the bugs.
Use the <removed exploit lead-in> to interact with the auction vendor.

Some of us have played legit from the beginning without exploiting and still have some really good gear, I flip enchants to make AD (lower ranked to higher rank's) Never once exploited any dungeon and Ive almost finished making my 2nd perfect, it quite easy to make good ad in this game, it just requires time and knowledge.

Devs have not cracked down on alt accounts and bot farming.

IMO, game gives too much bonus to those with gear rather than skill. PvE is still insanely good though so hopefully they add more PvE content ASAP.

One big way many people have made a lot of money legit is to arbitrage on the auction. Basically, buy low, sell high. You buy low by buying things at the bid price one minute before they expire, then resell at market price. This does however require you to play at odd hours of the day!

Some people use bots and accounts that are posting multiple 99 stacks of expensive items should be a red flag. It's not that hard to spot the people that are cheating and wrecking the economy.
I'm not saying it was humans, but it was humans.

I have to say this.... Back when there was WAY more exploiting there were HUGE price discrepancies on the AH where ppl didnt know the value of items and since there was a ton of it up all the time, prices dropped a TON. Prices for enchants has gone up a ton recently but if you played the AH right and knew what to look for you could make tons of AD every couple days by just logging to the AH.

OR you could exploit and get drops to sell for 200kAD +

Either way, enchants ARE the true end game gear, not the gear itself... Plus I think you under estimate the time ppl put into the game. I know I am inexplicably addicted to the game. I have really no reason to log in, but do day after day and still run runs for gear I dont need just for the sake of doing it... I also PVP for NO reward that I can even fathom except jsut for the purpose of killing people...

I have no progression to go, no real gear to get but still keep playing. I even decided to lvl an alt now just cause I want to have a reason to play at 60.. IM LOOKING for a reason to play because I want to play the game...

Hats off to the DEVs, now if only they could release challenging content AND good gear rewards AND make PVP better... I cant imagine how much I would play since I already play this HAMSTER!

Example of how this all works and why the econ is so messed up.

    1. Many exploits at start of game and legit players spent real money to convert into massive AD at start of game. 500AD : 1 Zen - $100 = 5,300,000 AD
    2. Legit players then bought exploiters items on AH
    3. Legit players stocked up a ton of exploited enchants, gear, etc...
    4. Legit players with full BiS gear farm end game dungeons easily and farm many items using broken mechanic's and sell for more AD.
    5. Legit players then get tons 10's of Millions more AD and buy more exploiters items from AH and stock it.
    cycle goes on.

I have guild mates that have exploited since day 1 and have 10's of thousands of ZEN & 10's of millions of AD to includes massive amounts of enchants.

Last night one of the exploiter logs into game after a break and sells a Perfect Vorpal to another guildmate for 10 Mil AD and then logs out of game. Who knows how many of these Exploited enchants the player has or alt accounts full of exploited loot. It was easy to launder exploited gear thru AH to legit accounts and why the gear is still in-game.

in other words, this and all PW games are broken beyond belief and there is no way to fix them

There is one way and you know it very well. Complete wipe of all shards before the next big patch. Whoever whines about it, we will know they exploited something. To be honest, I knew about the bugged quest in the graveyard that gives you proffesion assets. I did it a few times with a friend but I realized its HAMSTER and stopped. I knew about the spider temple terrain exploit and never did it before it was fixed cause its exploiting. I admit, I used the CN terrain exploit at the beginning a few times with a group of friends just to get one offhand and a GF MH weapon even thow I wanted all the sets, I refused to use it more and started doing it the legit way.Yes I admit all that I did but why? Am I rich? Nope!I am running around with a T2 High Vizier set that I bought legitly a month ago when its price was waaaaaaay underpriced (when a piece was around 80-90k - now the price is 400-500k), running around with green pants and rank 5-6 enchants, lesser bilethorn weapon enchant and lesser thunderhead enchants that I made a month ago. Does that make me a bad person that I used a few exploits just to get something good? I dont honestly care :D But I can tell you this: I reported every single one of those exploits before I stopped doing them. Did you report them?

did I report them, lol.. I didn't do them nor did I know about them cause I never looked for them... my gear uses level 5 and 6 gems and don't have even minor weapons and armor enhancements slotted
