PVP and why it still very much broken

I just sat in a game (before servers went down) where it ended up being just me and I was being farmed non stop in my base.

So I spent 5 minutes trying to get out and even put up a fight, but against 5 people spawn camping you, it doesn't matter how good you are, you can't. Stealth as soon as you load in, they are already attacking you.
Come the end of the match, I have 0 valor reward.
Lol ok, so because the opposite side can exploit to my base and repeatedly kill me as soon as I spawn, I don't deserve any points for trying?

Why is it so hard to make every base Impossible to get Into by the enemy?
A shield that doesn't allow abilities to cross, so targeting players, your powers won't teleport you to them, or you can't just sit in your base and shoot people.
Insta death for anyone getting on to the opposite teams base?
There are tons of ways, and some thing needs to be done.

Or the other problem now, is people just join a match, get 500 points and just go afk for the match, you can't kick them as you are no longer able to.

Then we have bots running rampant in matches, I get sick of people claiming there aren't bots in this game, when any simple google search will give you a long list of bot program's you can run.

Why on earth isn't some thing done about these problems.

Yes I know things take time, but the spawn camping in our base only to stay until the end and get no reward is total HAMSTER.

Because it's quite clearly a PVE game.

Hardly, treepeople. I've had this issue myself. In a 5v5 match it should be even right (or at least close)? But between getting "free" matches from bots and people spawn camping the enemy camps (and for me the cleric nerf), PvP is clearly broken. It doesn't even take a 1v5, 2v5, or even 3v5 match to get spawn camped either. I was in a 5v5 match and had it happen to me and so I and others couldn't even get out from behind the campfire while the rest of our team got their butts handed to them by the other 3 people on the enemy side, only to get spawn camped too when they eventually died. It's a stupid, well-known and well abused exploit that needs fixing. I agree that something needs to be done quickly, and I would hope for it to be done before launch, but that's probably being optimistic lol

I learned to work with the bot(s).

They go to point 2, let them.. focus on the other objectives.

They really need to fix the spawn points so that the enemy can't get there. The Hotenow one is just clearly bad design when you have classes that can basically teleport if they have line of sight. Not that it matters much I guess since they can all just wait where you'd drop down.

When I get in a position when it's 5 vs 2 or whatever and am getting constantly creamed as soon as I spawn in I usually just go get a drink or something and come back 5 minutes later. When I'm on a team that is spawn camping others I don't join in since I don't think it's very sporting.

yes, the spawn camping needs to be a priority fix! had this happen yesterday as well. hell the other team actually got also their players up by our camp fire and hit people before they even reloaded after dying. there are a other exploits. like one team i was against only had 1 cw. and used for class skills than allowed on the action bar in under 1 min. or these bots found a way to hot swap skills really fast.

altho occasionally i have gotten into match with other normal players. and those are easy to tell. as the match is usually pretty close and the player on there other side are making mistakes as well and they occasionally miss with their attacks! where as the bots don't.

Well something needs to be done, and it would be nice a dev would acknowledge this problem and say a fix is on the way.

Just finished a match where my team were doing this to the opposing team.
I asked them not to as its an exploit, yet in there eyes, it isn't
Doing something that's not intended and repeatedly taking advantage of it is exploiting.
It's not fun for people, and serves no purpose to anyone.
I just wish devs would do something about this.
Seriously, just having a player instantly die as soon as they cross the threshold on the opposing players side, would fix it instantly.
Surely a very easy and fast solution.

    Alright, devil's advocate here...

In a normal fight it's already hard enough to cap all three points, so if one team is so overpowering they can actually 'capture' the base-camp...why shouldn't that be a glorious victory for them? And a decent punishment for messing up so bad.

The reason why I hate it now is usually it's when there are two or three bots with two or three people trying to make something out of it, with horrible odds.

First mistake if you are the only one. Then leave. I won't let anyone farm me. Sometimes ill leave right as my soulforge proc's that is the perfect time you are immune and BAM. I click leave latter nubs. I win.

Experienced PvPers don't whine. Play the game as it is, not how you imagine it to be.

the only "bots" I ever saw just sat in the base, they never scored 1 point. maybe had some script to move a tiny bit every 10 mins so they don't get auto-kicked for AFK but they didn't do anything else.

I agree with protecting the spawn points better but in reality unless they also have 2-3 exits (or there are multiple spawn point choices) you'll just get camped as soon as you jump down anyway...

if you're getting roflstomped that bad, just leave. or if you're there for the daily just do a sexy /dance in the campfire while you go get a sammich. you don't lose anything if the other players "farm" you, and they certainly won't be mistaken thinking you are just bad and they are good or anything...

IMO they need much larger maps with 5-6 control nodes and multiple spawn points. right now pvp is strictly 4x daily for the AD..

    Latest Preview server patch notes:
    PvP
    • Domination: Mount Hotenow and Rivenscar Ruins: Players may no longer target and attack players in spawn points with ranged or teleport attacks. Players in spawn points may not snipe from their perches there, either.

Its very easy to spot a bot and yes they do leave the base and try to fight they just suck at it and usually do no more than maybe get a few assists and some points for standing on a point but the best way to tell if some one is a bot is inspect them 99% of the time they are in lvl 10 gear or below and when your at lvl 30 its a dead giveaway also seems they dont mount either so if every one on your team mounts up at the start of the fight but then you got 2 idiots that are just running then more than likely you have bots..

Been many, many times you start the match with 5vs5, to find half way through your now down to 3vs5 or 2vs5 getting total smack down. I really don't care how good you think you are. Nobody in this game can hold back those odds. To say spawn camping is a virtuous right of victory, for those doing so bad in the match, is a sad look at how you see PvP. What ever the reason they leave the match, bot or other wise. Anyone at any point in match disconnects should get 0 credit for match. This would diminish bots to some degree. Least forcing them to remain in the match to the end to get credit. I personally find close matches have rewarded me better valor then matches we cleaned clocks harshly.

I agree, they need to fix the spawn camping. I personally don't have this problem, I run with a guild. 80% of the time, we end up with at least a 5v4 after the initial skimish when we beat the **** out of the other team. Yup, most of the time someone leaves right away if they don't win the first fight. And many times more have left.

We never do, no matter what. If we get our asses kicked from the start, maybe by another premade, we stick it out and try to figure out how to beat them.

But spawn camping is no fun. And ya, we're usually the ones standing under the enemy spawn area looking for action. There's no sport in spawn camping, only more kills, points and glory :)

But this is PvP, no mercy, no sympathy, just blood.
