Discuss. At what point does Arm Pen stop being a good or stackable option. The higher it is doesn't it make it the stat to stack for more damage. Seems like for this more is always better if your gear has you well rounded.
once you penetrate 100% of the armor of your target, thats the point where you should stop stacking it
Isn't there bringing a player to a negative mitigation though. below 0. I heard some players talking of this. Maybe its not true. If you have 20% mitigation and a player hits you with 22% arm pen. Isn't that -2% mitigation. Kinda hoping that is true, I would like this rumor to be try in my theory crafting lol.
Soft cap would be the amount of ArP required to remove 100% of the lowest armor class' armor. The hard-cap would be the amount required to remove 100% of the highest armor class' armor. This is a rough breakdown of damage reduction from defense+AC per class in PvP:
TR/CW: ~20%
Cleric: ~27%
GWF: ~32%
GF: ~40%
These numbers can change depending on what type of gear is worn, but these are close enough. So based on these numbers the soft cap is around 20% (meaning more than 20% ArP does nothing against TR/CW but helps against the other classes) and the hard cap is around 40% (meaning more than that does absolutely nothing). If your PvE gear is the same set as your PvP gear i'd say you'd want to shoot for 24% ArP and no higher (which is the hard cap in PvE).

Thanks. I like to nuke stuff so trying to figure where I want to stop with Arm Pen. I have 16% currently

what those people were talking about were other debuffs, those can go under 0%
example:
armor pen 22%
enemy mitigation: 18%
random debuff 5%
you penetrate the 18% mitigation and then the debuff brings it to -5%, inscreasing your raw damage by 5%
TR/CW: ~20%
Cleric: ~27%
GWF: ~32%
GF: ~40%

Ahhhhhh Thank you for that explanation. Hmm can it work for plague fire for a joint debuff to a negative ?
