Lashing Blade seems so broken in pvp at times.

Is it just me or when fighting a decent DC or CW they can dodge 100% of lashing blades? I'll see the full animation go off and hit them, they dodge afterwards and it's a successful dodge against lashing blade. Why does it seem so broken at times? It's stupid, especially since that's our main, if not only for some rogues, encounter for damage.

    You're doing it wrong.

Lashing should be done nearly always from stealth to guarantee crit.
Stealth should keep the enemy from knowing you're right behind/next to them. Most people can't react fast enough to avoid the lashing. /pun.

    Nope.

Lashing blade is not always done in stealth. You can't beat a CW if you surprise lash them because they will kill you afterwards.

You must always combo Stealth > Dazing strike, then quick lash or wait for them to run out of dodge to lash. You must daze a CW or YOU are doing it wrong.

You lose out on the guaranteed crit, why would you do that? Unless you have a 75%+ chance of crit or something.

    If it's 1 vs 1?
Hahaha no. That's why you finish them off first.
As a TR, your priority targets are CWs and other TRs. (As those are the ones that can kill you quite easily while GFs & GWFs are strong but can be "avoided".)
Me don't even bother taking daze anymore unless me am coordinating with a team push.

Surprise lashing with or without LA = They're nearly dead or dead.
Impact shot/Shadow strike for range damage. (As they will be very unlikely to let you come near them again.)
Force choke? Impossible to catch free, chuck dagger stacks to finish them off.

If the cw/tr is already half dead than yes i open with lashing. But if they at full health ill hit them with dazing strike first to make sure i can beat on them while they got no defense.

I specc'ed into the middle paragon tree for its final feat (+15% to first encounter used out of stealth) just to maximize this strategy. Dazing from stealth + buffed lashing normally kills them. If not a few daggers from cos finishes the job.

The problem is when you execute lashing strike (from stealth of course), it will not hit the target right away. Thus, CWs/Clerics will be able to dodge it unharmed.

There are countless times that I approach CWs from behind and in stealth, use lashing...boom...they blink away taking 0 damage.
You say 4v5 is impossible? Cool story bro.

If you have a good headset and twitch reaction, you can hear the animation of lashing blade before it goes off and dodge it. I've been called out plenty of times for using an "automated dodge" but that's not the case.

    Hmm, good to know.

    Thanks for the information!
