The difference is the one task that gives XP gives you enough xp to advance the level. Great system in my opinion.

I was a bit confused at first, to be honest. The new Alchemy profession is pretty cool and it has lots of uses for all classes. I don't know if I would call great the system they chose for this new profession, but it seems to be worth the patience.
I hate dancing with Lady Luck. She always steps on my toes.

Yea I understand how it works, yet for some reason I am stuck @ level 2, I have done multiple experimentations and yet I only have one that succeeded and I got a recipe and experience, so basically atm I have 3 minor unstable potions and I'm making more vitriol in the hope that more experimentation will work, and if it does not - am I stuck at rank 2 forever?

Working as intended. Only one task per level is intended to give XP and it gives enough XP to level to the next
All task give XP
(leadership has only 1 level 1 though)
I was under the assumption, you where trying to tell me that, in all trade skills only one task gives XP...
I misunderstood...
Still I think its weird, that in all other trade skills gathering resources grants XP and only alchemy is different...
It feels inconsistent for my taste.
That is why I reported it...
