I've reached lvl60 recently with my beloved cleric , and I'm starting farming T1 instances for purple stuff.
Well, after around 10 runs or so of BT/CC, I can say I've never been able to get anything purple for my class: it's not a matter of needing an item and being outbidded but rather no purple drop at all for cleric...
Is this something you experience(d) as well, or am I just unlucky so far?
I honestly don't remember much other than I ran a hodgepodge of items at first and slowly turned them into a coherent gear set.
Save your seals, buy jewlery with them and that will go a long way (two slavemaster rings, I like the slavemaster neck for the defense as I don't need recovery, and nab a belt). A lot of T1 items are incredibly cheap (on Beholder) right now. You can get gloves for around 6-7k astral, helms go for 10-30k, etc... so run instances, try to sell off gear you don't need, buy the items you do.
I seem to recall I hit up Karrundax a few times to get my first weapon upgrade from my PvP main hand. Even though they say Red Dragon is a T2, it's honestly easier than many T1's. Now that they've nerfed his health, it's probably one of the easiest boss fights in the game.

Thanks a lot for your answer!
You're right, things are cheap on the AH... Will try it that way.
You're better off spending the minimum AD in AH and using your rank 4 enchants (including fusing from rank 3) from levelling to get your gear to the 8300+ level in order to do the first few T2's. PvP gear tends to be particularly cheap and effective, especially since one of the sets provides a large Divinity boost.
T2 loot during DD is far more useful and lucrative. T1's you can run between DD's for gold, AD and experience.
Do not overvalue gear or worry that you cannot technically heal. The main purpose of Cleric is providing damage resistance, which is gear independent. The rest is mostly correct Power selection and experience.
You can even heal the whole of Castle Never in PvP gear, if you had the skill and could get past the GS requirement via enchants and accessories.
I'm with you -- I've done a bunch of T1s since reaching 60 recently, and had 1 thing drop, which I didn't need, since I'd already bought something from the AH. With AH prices so low, you should be almost able to get a full T1 set for <100k.
