Control Wizard's need Help

Did anyone read the deception of the CW... I don’t really think so. It says

“A wizard is a class based on arcane origin which focuses on control as its primary role. Control Wizards focus foremost on their primary role harnessing arcane energies to control the battlefield and helping the party to not get overrun by a swarm of monsters. Apart from that, they are able to dish damage very well and hence their secondary role is that of striker. They crush, restrain, and debilitate their foes. They wield a magical orb and are capable of unleashing torrents of damage on enemy parties.”

Every time I go in a dungeon CW are always trying to kill or knock back mobs in all directions, making it harder for everyone. They try to back up there claim by saying it does more damage… read the deception. Also the goal is not to top the DPS charts… it to get through the dungeon without busting hundreds of time. Please learn there are cliff that 1 shot mobs and by knocking all the mobs everywhere you are in turn lowing your and everyone’s damage. Please learn to play your class and stop saying “hay, tank… you know you spost to hold agro…” lol, yeh. My reply was “yes I know that, btw did you know by throwing all the mobs around you’re not helping… just making my job harder.” Please learn that CW are not damage dealers… they are exactly what the class name says “Control Wizard”.

    Consider 2 things:
    1) you CC masses of mobs with singularity, it is a daily and requires AP
    2) Shield pop is highest AP generating ability (untabbed)

Sum 1 and 2 and you end up having to throw things around jut to gather them with next singularity.
Also, CW are damage dealers, there is nothing like CC-only classes. The fact they arent supposed to be top damage dealers doesn't make them cc-bots only. In aoe fights, once mobs are under control, more damage just ease the fight.
And you don't need "control" gear to do your job, you need crit and recovery, which are dps stats afaik.

If you were instead talking ONLY to "bad" cw players and not every cw, then gj beating a dead horse:)

CWs are technically Controllers, not Strikers, just like GWFs are Defenders. TRs are the only outright Strikers. But GWFs and CWs are still meant to deal damage effectively.
Yes you get bad Wizards repelling or knocking mobs hither and yon while in groups, making it harder for the rest of the party. Bad players of any class can make things harder, its just more obvious and extreme with Wizards.

In my opinion, this issue has already been through many times in these forums. I'm guessing (yes, guessing) you are not talking about level 60 dungeons here, since I have never seen this happen in those. Low level dungeons, yes, this is might be a problem. Since, the pushy push push is available at around level 15. Steal time, Entangling Force and Arcane Singularity are the ones that I mostly use. No need to be pushing anyone, so, while I agree with the stuff you said, I just wanted to say, not all CW's are like that. They will learn. Or then they will not, but some people never learn.

I know that I as a CW only have shield/repel on my bar that scatters ,mostly for those times that everyone wants stuff cliff dumped. I do agree that Arcane Singularity is our best friend, hehe followed up shortly with a Steal Time.

True that Shield is high AP generating ability... but when i play my CW i can easily spam Vortex with even using Shield pop.

No, I’m talking about level 60 dungeons. I play a GF with 13K GS. But all the time people are just trying to top the DPS charts rather than getting through the dungeon.

That is just moronic... why would you want to top the chart when there is nothing to gain? There is no prices on being the top DPS/Healer/Killer/Whatever. The price is getting through the **** dungeon, getting the lewt and moving on. Jesus Christ people...

Well why tanks, like my self go DPS is to hold more Agro... right now threat means almost nothing. So if we don't deal tons of damage we can not do are job properly.
