Neverwinter is a good game, but it needs more.

The combat in Neverwinter keeps my attention more than any MMO that I've played. That list is long.

I won't lie, for a free game, this has sucked me in more than any. I actually enjoy the game much more than Guild Wars 2, which I felt was the only decent MMO to come out since WoW.

Open Beta didn't start too long ago - April 30th, so I'm not losing my mind over the current state of the game, but I am getting concerned, simply because I want to play Neverwinter and if adjusted correctly with decent updates, I feel that it's something that I could stick to for a long time.

It's obvious that players want another class to come out by August, but new classes aren't everything. I would love to see at least one of them, but what I'm invested in more than anything is the thought of new paragon path choices. The game needs variety aside from aesthetics, especially when the aesthetics themselves are limited. People want to feel different than the next person next to them.

For a game that has an in-game store with so much so early into its release, and the ability to convert real money into in-game currency, which can be essentially used in any aspect of the game, then with that there needs to be more, much more to keep us going.

There's nowhere to really grind in this game, nothing to go back to. You level another character to gear it out like the next person, then you either move on to the next character or quit. It's that simple. I have no issue with a store, but the carrot on a stick approach in the short-term is going to make people angry if more content doesn't arrive to accompany such purchases.

I won't be quitting the game soon, I plan on leveling more characters, but I know that a lot of people aren't going to wait around for several months at a time for a couple of dungeons whilst the core of the game is left untouched. Yesterday marks the day of launch, and while I do believe the game just reaches that threshold of having enough content to merit a launch, to me it still feels like beta.

I really hope the update on Feywild is incomplete and that more is to come...

the game is made kind of funny really.

the leveling process is 100% casual friendly, then you have the end game dungeons needing a billion runs to get your gear and most groups requiring experienced and geared players because they are not easy.

i know the reason they do the end game like that is because they dont have any other way to extend the life of the game, but it just seems silly to me.

if you want to make your game a grinder, make it a grinder. dont flip from casual to grinder at max level.

I was just noticing that same exact thing.

I play another MMO out there, where you can still do end game without great gear, it just takes longer and more strategy as all their dungeons can be done in several ways..But, because you can get into groups to do the content much easier, I think it makes one lust for the items more....esp since there are more choices for items and customization since people don't choose you on Gear Score. Also, a player wants to improve everytime they do a dungeon, be it die less, kill more, kill less ( stealth, invis) or just do it faster.

I feel like many people will get to the endgame here, maybe roll a second alt, and move on, maybe come back when there is new content.

    .....cowbells.
Delve loot murdered my TR, DC, & GWF. Nerf Plox:
I know that it sucks to no longer get gear to sell from the Dungeon Delve chest but it was truly overpowered.

yeah, other MMOs, like EQ2, we can buy houses, decorate our homes and guild halls. we also have different flying mounts. lots of collectibles that can be place as a furniture. and some real collectibles, not like junks we pick up in this game.

and but it still a fun game though.

Welp, its my third MMO(If I count a couple days of Eve which I regret). I am loving the combat engine although the rooted-while-attacking is really still there even if you aren't having to watch casting bars all the time. The root time could stand to be half as long across the board imo.

More classes... Well, I'm not afraid they wont, I'm just irritated they haven't shared any confirmation on which classes will come soon. Judging by the way they move content out this means it could be quite a while before new classes are available. I am eagerly anticipating a Ranger class and a Druid class. It also wouldn't hurt for them to implement a Bard class (although such a pure leader class would be a balance issue imo).

As far as races go I only see them doing maybe 1 or 2 more after Drow. I can imagine Aasimar and/or Deurgar or Gnomes. Would be awesome if they actually decided to somehow write in a reason for Svirfnebli to come up to the surface and fight alongside other adventurers.

As far as melee classes go they represent 3/5 of the current class makeup, but are totally constrained to very specific weapon types. Currently we have no berserker or battlerager and we have no monk-like class. Those are things to keep an eye out for, although I think it likely the game will get another healer or tank first of all. I will be clear though, I do not like the idea of a druid wild-shape tanking. I'd rather see a Paladin class or a Barbarian.

I've read in other places on this forum about the idea of multi-classing. That will seriously break the balance of the game, but dang it would be awesome! I have a feeling there would be some throwback to dual-classing from old D&D rules which Humans did to get more than one class. Except in this case I can see it being implemented on all races. It's the only way I can see it having any kind of balance, and it would allow Cryptic to kind of force you to favor one class over the other, which would improve their ability to balance such a dramatic feature. That or multiclass characters miss out on some really epic top-tier abilities/powers.

Good a place as any to add this. I would like the option to play kobolds. I mean Rhix is allowed a place to stand in Protector's Enclave. I think it would be rather cool to be able to run around as one of these.
