PVP, PVE...we don't really excel at either now do we?

Don't get me wrong, I love the two or three main viable builds out there right now and have really enjoyed them. But it seems like, unless you have millions and millions of AD, even the best builds fall short without rank 9 or 10 enchantments etc...I do ok at PVP, I do ok at PVE...but the class seems to have hit a bit of a wall for me in the past week or so...I wasn't one of those that was destroying everything in PVE or PVP before the last major patch (and crying as a result of the changes), but it just seems to me like now, without the best of the best enchants and gear combined with the exact right spec for either PVP or PVE...we are just ok. I liked being able to do both fairly well before without dumping millions of AD one way or the other. Again, i'm not whining about any specific nerf or crying that other classes are too OP, I just feel like my rogue is much less diverse without spending tons of AD...Maybe its "working as intended" ;-) Am I wrong?

lol. idk about you, but I do amazing in both.

Stats in order from need to not need
    power
    crit
    lifesteal
    Armor pen

I have 1400 lifesteal, with tons of power and sufficient crit.

Basically with my attack speed and power, and the fact I get a 10% hp gain on any damage I do...

I don't require the healer very much in pve

Power isn't very good even with the changes.
Reason being that we still get 60-80% of our damage from Duelist's Flurry and that still scales 25power = 1dmg (no change from before).

    Stat Priorities:
Armor Pen > Crit > Recovery =>= Power > Health Points =>= Life Steal.

    As for succeeding.
I'm top dps in PVE almost always if I play with a competent CW.
Because Wicked Reminder has no target limit.

As for PvP, I do fine in my normal PvE spec, but if see the perma-stealth build if you want to see rogue PvP potential.

Not as easy as GWF/GF, but still good.

    You're doing it wrong.
Even after the nerf, me am top rank in damage in all dungeons runs. Not as high a difference from 2nd place as before, but still 1st place.

I also perform above average in PvP with a pure PvE spec & crappy gear (no enchants at all because I'm lazy).

The alternative is to go pure PvP spec & spend a ton of AD to become an annoying monster in PvP but mediocre in PvE.

    From the 'Balance Patch' notes:
    Trickster Rogue

Encounter and Daily powers now benefit more from the Power stat.
Blitz: The snare from this power no longer stacks with other snare effects.
Deft Strike: This power no longer places the Rogue in front of certain dragons.
Duelist's Flurry: Credit for the bleed damage is now properly attributed if multiple Rogues apply stacks.
Duelist's Flurry: Up to 10 stacks of the bleed effect can be applied to a single enemy regardless of how many Rogues applied them.
Duelist's Flurry: The bleed now ticks more slowly.
Duelist's Flurry: The bleed effect now properly reapplies after reaching ten stacks.
Impossible to Catch: The Stealthed version no longer removes DoT effects when activated, but does prevent them from being applied while active.
Shocking Execution: The base damage of this power has been reduced by 60%.
Smoke Bomb: The snare from this power no longer stacks with other snare effects.
Feat: Catspaw Style: This feat now properly reduces the target's defense.
Feat: Deadly Momentum: The Critical Severity buff from this feat has been reduced to match the tooltip.
Feat: Ruthless Efficiency: The Armor Penetration buff from this feat has been reduced to match the tooltip.

Looking at the notes, makes me think that Power is now the most important stat for rogues. Am I wrong?

This, the math agrees. We still do the most damage, also, I wouldn't try to focus on PVP, the OP invis throwing daggers tenebrous thing will probably get nerfed seeing as how many people are complaining. You can do fine in PVP with a pve spec just stealth lurkers throw some knives then lashing strike someone.

You should say what you're doing; abilities being used and feats taken. If you give some more info and a direction you want to go we might be able to give more specific advise.

Even though they buffed the ratios it didn't change for Duelist Flurry(at-will) which is most of our damage in pve. Also, the change wasn't as significant as it sounds.

    Very wrong.
    More =/= Most.

& more of nothing is still pretty close to nothing.

Just look at the PvP forum. You're deluding yourself if you think we aren't going to get hit hard by nerfs again and again.

Might as well sit back and enjoy the ride.
