Login Timeout: What now?

Ok, I just tried to log in, thinking it was Beta Weekend, but I always get Login Timeout now. Are the servers down?? Any info pls?

EDIT: Ok it worked now, I had to deactivate the "European proxy" setting from last time.

    I just got this error message. I can't access one of my toons, while the other works perfectly.

    Please help.

    I am having this issue now currently and can not enter with my character. I can create and use a new one and that character does not have issues logging into the game but my current character with this issues keep getting Time Out error no matter what login method I choose.

    I'm getting the same issue with Login Time Outs with my character. Very frustrating.

    I can't even create a character... using my old PW account, but that's ok, no?

    I have been trying for over three hours to get logged on. At 3pm local time, I had no problems, but from 6 to now past 9 pm, as I try off an on from two different computers I can rarely get to the character selection (usually timeout to the login server), and when I get to the character selection I always timeout to the game server. That is, when I am not getting just flat out disconnected to the login server... trying through both straight and VPN access to see if this is an IP address issue... nothing works.

    addendum:
    Funny thing, the next attempt at logging in after posting that message worked right away, and I was able to play for the next three hours or so until I finally got disconnected while zoning and couldn't get reconnected again.

    So here I am again, getting 'Connection to account server timed out' again today (11:00 am local time) almost every time (6 in a row so far), and when I do actually get to the character screen I get booted with "Connection to game server timed out" when I actually try to log in.

    Someone suggested this may be because I am on dial-up, I am not: I am on 20 Mbit down/5 Mbit up fiber.

    I recently spent 4 weeks of vacation, before that the game was almost unplayable because of lag issues. Returning from vacation, I was joyful that most all of the lag issues seemed to have been worked out (only a couple of bad events in the summer festival zone that both resulted in my 60 TR getting shamefully butchered by the very same kobolds I was attempting to shamefully butcher), but now, instead of lag, I just can't play at all. Seems like a win, as it definitely encourages me to not spend money.
