What are the methods of getting an NPC that is in the main room of an inn to run to a desired room location when players enter the tavern?

I think you will have to get it to appear when component reached, and put a marker in to use as a component. Then set its behaviour to a 1 way patrol and tell it where you want it to go.

As soon as you reach the marker the npc will appear and run off.

You could have one there already and have it disappear as the patroller appears.

Or just have 1 npc and put an invisible wall up in front of it to stop it moving and have the wall disappear when you reach the marker, I'm not sure if this will cause the npc to try and walk against the wall or not though.

This method worked out perfectly for my needs. I had to figure out why he was instantly in the designated room when i zoned in. The resolution for this was to use multiple Patrol Points in a single line.

Thinking the use of one single patrol point and setting it off some where in the distance and adding a puff of smoke when he disappears might be a useful little trick.

I think if you just had it as a one way patrol without any components reached etc the npc would walk off as soon as you clicked the door on the other side, so by the time you actually entered the map it was already at the end of its patrol. The marker acts as a sort of delay.
