new lvl 60 dc with questions

So i finally got my dc to 60 and i have some questions...

I think for gear i got 2 war prophet for 400 extra recovery, and 2 of something else i forget for extra 400 crit. So id say my gear is pretty decent.

1. Do the 2 set bonuses really work?

2. For PVP, what is our role? I dont think i could heal through that kind of burst dps, so i focused in dps, control, and dmg reduction instead... i used Chains of Blazing, daunting light, and healing word, or break spirit...For at will, I had Brand Sun, and Astral seal...For daily, i had the Hammer of Fate, and the Divine Shield one.. And for passives, i slotted Foresight, and Holy Fervor.. For PVE, i never use link spirit and the divine at will heal... But for PVP, i was using it constantly along with those skills, and blowing through divine pts like nobodys business. So is this a good set up for PVP.

2. PVP broken -- On one match, the other team was being complete bullkitten and had our spawn point camped with high burst dps class. So I was spawning right into a group of ppl that have so high dps any one of them can almost 1 shot me...Is that cheating, or is PVP just broken in that the other team should not be able to reach the others spawn pt

3. PVE Dungeon Run - Tried Frozen Heart as my first 60 d/d run and it didnt go well. The tank wanted us to run through everything without killing anything. I am not used to that.. I am used to clearing as we go, and controlling the size of pulls based on how good the team was... Our team ended up disbanning because the tank was the only one with enough survivability to run through rooms and rooms of mobs without dropping.. So was this guy crazy? Or is this how the lvl 60 runs are suppose to go? Also, is there a speed buff I can get to help in situations like this?

4. Ion stone of allure-- thinking of getting one..if I do, what should i put on it? and how much does one of those thigns help?

PVP Potions - do they have potions in PVP or no? If so, where do i get them.

    1. Of course. Just press "C" and look as your stats change.

    2. No idea. I do not consider Cleric a viable class for PvP post-patch.

    3. Same as above.

    4. You can bypass some trash and even some bosses in dungeons. But no, that is not normal. It is totally on the head of whoever tries to pull such things without clueing in the healer. Also, you as healer have control if you know you cannot cope, i.e. have tried it one or more times before. Just say you won't be there healing them...

    5. Depends on your build, Cleric has a lot more flexibility than other classes since so much of the class is independent of gear stats. Stacking Defense to at least 2k normally has the largest impact since you can get to the soft cap for Recovery from gear alone. Then its a choice between Crit, Recovery and Power. The better your overall gear is and the closer you are to the soft caps in crit and recovery, the more likely your pet's secondary stat benefits from Power.

Though, there are specialist builds that focus on Recovery. But by the time you know what build you want, you won't need this advice.

Yes, there are PvP potions. You can get them from the Glory vendor in the PvP area/building ("The Trade of Blades") or from the AH with AD. Just turn left from the entrance.

What are the soft caps for recovery, power, and crit... I think i am at approx 2,800 for power, 2,800 for crit, and 2,800 for recovery right now without the stone... But my defense is low and under 1,000... No armor pen or life steal at all. Prior to 60 i was building for recovery, so i could pop Hallowed ground all the time since i have it feated

    3. Queuing for random group can turn really unlucky / "=w=)/ If one member is a jerk and won't listen/talk kindly with others, the party's pretty much screwed. In Epic Karrundax also, it's expected, at least in pubs, to 'die against a wall, jump to next campfire,' along with 'mad dash and die' in the area just before the boss room.
It really helps rallying a team in Enclave, using zone chat. Make sure everyone is on the same page, no cheesy speedrun!

Using Dark enchantments in utility slots give run speed bonus, but I doubt they are even noticeable, and most mobs seems to outrun even Usain Bolt. (o x o )"

    4. I'm currently in Tier 1 gears too, and almost reaching 3000 for recovery and crit with helps from enchant slots.
So putting Power in your ioun stone might benefit you the most, as it doesn't have softcap like others.
In case you missed these, here are some insightful reads -- about diminishing returns and stuffs
Lanlin's stat values docs, from this post
stacking a stat too high is moot by unspecifiederror
I've heard people say 3000 is good enough for recovery and critical, though Deistik got them up to 3800, which should give ~3% more I'd guess.
But from Error's thread, I find myself comfortable at just 35% recovery (75% of base cooldown),
more would of course be welcome ^ ^ but for now I need some Power...

Or you could use fun things like armor penetration, if you're looking to go all DPSsy. The best equips go to yourself anyway so you can have a range of lesser wardrobe for your ioun stone. ~~\('w' /

They sell PvP potions in Seven Suns market too, standing right next to the normal potion vendor.

Addendum: While taking more HP enchants in your defense slots (might) save you from big spike damage, I prefer Defense enchants. Because I often find myself harassed by archers, and max HP means less when you're struggling with health lower than full, defense seems to fare better there.
As for lifesteal... I play the top feat tree, and now trying to divorce from Astral Shield. Yet my damage output never feel I would benefit from this stat. Regen on the other hand could be useful, if you have lots of it -- an unspecifiederror's regen tank build

There's no soft cap as such. Before the nerf to Astral Shield, you'd go for 3,000+ recovery to have 100% uptime. But now it's more up to when you hit a too expensive diminishing return and what your personal preference is.

I did some calculations on diminishing returns some time ago here. The graphs show how much you pay for 1% increase at a certain stat level. I'm not sure if the numbers are still valid after the patch, but I'll do some new tests soon :)

Crit has a massive diminishing return. Recovery has slightly less and power has none.

Before the patch (don't kill me if numbers have changed), if you were at 4,000 power and 2,500 crit, a point in each would amount to the same buff in raw healing power. But keep in mind that crit helps from certain feats as well as boosting your numbers, whereas power is slightly more reliable.
We are not designed to outheal stupidity!

LOL, not for what you wrote, but for being honest.
Like you a lot of WTF moments in this game in particular when you hit 60.

Laughing, the dumb tank that thought the whole team could survive like that.
Sadly, you haven't seen anything yet.
The PUG player that has no clue how to play his class, what his role in a group is, etc.
I think some are still using the same and only skills automatically placed by the game at level 3.

Anyhow, I'll give you a tip about PVP. After many post nerf patch PvP matches and all the frustration I actually had some fun tonight doing my four rounds for the diamonds.
First forget the concept of a Cleric/healer. Forget about putting DAS down, trying to keep people alive, etc.
HEALING DOESN'T GIVE YOU A SINGLE POINT. That's right, you read that correctly.
The brain trust at Cryptic, kind of sort of, yea forgot this little point.
So even if you sweat running around healing to help the team win, with out any kills or unless you go capture some flags, you will get 0 points even if you win.

Plus with DAS being nerfed all to hell, being less then 1/2 of what it was before, a CW or a rogue can still one or two shot you in the circle anyhow. And with no real burst heals, over all trying to do any real healing in PvP as it stands is IMHO pointless.

Take of DAS, take off FF (unless that's the best you have) and put on your skill bar instead the best damage skills you have.
The rogues and CWs get thrown off by this. They expect to run up and one or two shot you as usual while you are typically healing. I used the free re-spec for a more DPS build and now can at least do some damage.
By fighting it keeps the opposing team busier, and often giving a real damage dealer (pretty much any other class) a chance to join in and finish off the target.
I still had Sun Burst on and could do some healing with Divine mode, but other then that I ran around spamming my limited damage skills.
And at the end of the match at least I'm getting Glory, and no longer standing around wondering why Cryptic made us the sacrificial lamb.

I cant remember what skills I have slotted (1/2 through maintenance as I write this) but I run a DPS based build also - but know that I do use BoTs.

Still feel like the proverbial "sacrificial lamb" if I am not following others around but as the prev. poster stated, it makes the other team busier and at least feel I am making a contribution.
