@Cryptic - What is status of unbinding companions?

We all know that the code for unbinding companions is in the game and that it used to work. It has been disabled by Cryptic for a while now, so you can't, for example, unbind your $20 Ioun Stone to send it to your new character. There are many threads and bug reports on this topic but not a single word from Cryptic.

Cryptic, why don't you say something... anything at all on this topic? Are you just trying to milk your customers for more money by forcing them to buy the same companions over and over for each character? That's just wrong since you promised early on that companions would be able to unbind.

Even a short note saying "we are working on it" or "we are greedy and decided to disable unbinding permanently even though the code is already in the game" or any kind of customer oriented response at all would be better than your complete silence.

The feature is in.. you need to idle your companion first then pay AD to unbind it. A lvl 30 purple will cost you around 140K AD.

They're not gonna do this. They are not fools, they know how to make money, and this change would cost them money, it wouldnt benefit them at all.

Lets just hope that prices will drop for certain companions (cat for 980k?? seriously wtf).

Try it, this does not work. When you click OK in the dialog to unbind nothing happens since it has been disabled by Cryptic. It did work in the past though.

I heard rumors the upgrade tome are coming in soon after official launch.

Have to agree with this player on the subject, the paid companions brings in some nice revenue for Cryptic I really do not see them reactivating this feature any time soon or if at all.

The thread that you linked is related to upgrade tomes and not related to unbinding companions. Do you have a link with any comment at all from a Cyptic employee regarding the unbinding of companions?

We will see in with launch. If you no longer get the popup then its safe to say it may be scraped. If its still there and doesnt work then they overlooked it on things to do for launch. Or...or it works and you can unbind for a fee.

If they don't reactivate unbinding companions then it means they are greedy and mistreat customers by breaking promises to them.

And I've bought two stones and a cat, and my cat is collecting dust on my cleric which I would love to switch the cat over to another character. It would be nice if Cryptic reactivated this feature but a part of me keeps saying (It brings in more money) if we leave this feature disabled and continue to charge players money to buy new companions.
