@Cryptic - Response Required: Trade window

I've not long been with the game, 2 - 3 days or so and i've used the forums very little however i see an issue i have popping up all over the place.

What's the issue?
The Trade window currently isn't notifying us of changes to the items offered well enough.

The effect?

As you can see in threads such as:
http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?348892-Stealing-During-Trades

and in the story where something similar happened to me, and i lost a rank 7 enchant which was going on the AH for 120,000 AD there are some people taking advantage of the trade window to gain items.

How can this be solved?

Some suggest items cannot be taken out of the trade window, some that a green border is put up which is removed if any items change, confirmation boxes etc are all possible and this is an issue many MMO's have had to find their own solution too - it shouldn't be difficult.

What can YOU do to avoid being scammed?

Firstly avoid trading where possible and use the Auction House
If you must trade: Pay full attention during the trade and check the offer as you click accept, if someone is removing items, cancelling and bring the trade up again or otherwise acting confusingly move on and find someone else to trade with.

And if you are hit with this scam?

You'll receive something like this: thanks for the report, we can't reimburse, please be careful and ignore the player you did it (the actual message keeps getting edited out by a stealth mod)

Cryptic - If you're unwilling to help in this cases, you need to do everything in your power to stop it being possible. If you're not making the trade window secure enough, some people are going to get really annoyed if you dont help them.

LOL cause you deserve it then. You where trying to avoid losing 12k AD and lost a full 120,000 AD. That tax of 12k, is the safety deposit fee to ensure you do not get ripped off. Put it up, add buy out, BAM! You will not get ripped off. You try to avoid it, well...you know what happens.

Other option, is to just remove the trade ability. Every MMO has problems with trade scams, but with the constant complaining about getting scammed, makes you wonder which is better....too pay the idiot tax and lose it or just pay the 10% of the full cost. Second option sounds better.

Im realoy surprised that ppl arent paying more attention. But seriously, i dnt know how many gamss ive seen this issue pop up in and yet devs still keep letting it happen. Love the game so farm but come on cryptic, this is one of those obvious things u make counter mwasures for when designing a trade function.

A 3 stage trade window seals the deal. A 2 stage window is what allows all this scamming.

    Works as follows:

Player A puts item in window, pushes lock button.
Player B puts currency in window, pushes lock button.
Trade can only happen when windows are locked on both sides.
Then trade is confirmed on both sides and the items are swapped.

There is no unlock button. After pushing lock there is only confirm or cancel, and the confirm/cancel options only appear after both sides are locked. It is clearly understood by both parties at that point as to what is being traded. This takes away the ability to quickly remove items from the window and then push trade again all within a split second.

Ive scripted a few of these myself for older PW games, and I used different colors for the locked state and the confirm state.

I'm sorry for my not posting on the issue at hand, but.... It is completely ridiculous for some one to write "@Cryptic - Response Required" for what ever reason. It make me laugh. Good luck though.
