GWF Sentinel PVP build, anyone ?

Hi all

I am having a lot of fun with my gwf destroyer in pvp. I am around 10.5k GS (but honestly it means nothing lol)
I have the zerker set (thx devs 4 pieces proc doesnt work lol), ancient weaps and offence blue rings and belt.

In 1v1 situations im a beast ! i can stunlock to death run away repeat but i'm as fragile as my TR...

I've seen some other GWF HAMSTER me with lower gear. More heals, more resistance...seems like it is the return of the sentinel tree lol.

Does anyone have a good pvp senti build, i'd be using the pvp set cause the 10% heal is too nice to pass ! Should i aim for defense instead of ArP ? etc ?

I've also read the devs boosted power for gwf too ? is that true ?

Thanks all for your advices.

I have two level 60 GWFs.. One a tricked out Instigator build at 12.2k GS, and a Sentinel build at 12.5k GS.
These past few days I have found my Sentinel build is better in PvP then my Instigator build, the survivability on it is real good honestly.

Link to Powers/Feats can be found here. It has a bit of wiggle room with some extra points to flavor as you desire. :)

Hey thx for your reply !

As i am a solo player i took off all these threat things that i dont need ^^

Getting to Sentinel tree + pvp set + HP and much more def took me to 11kGS

But thats not the point...i used to hit and run...using tab super sangoku spell only to flee after combo. NOW i use it to heal and tank like a freaking elephant !!!

Never lost a single 1v1 since yesterday, won a few 2v1 situations (impressive...)
I'd say i need 2 more tenebrous and i ll be good to go lol

    Thx again !

You're welcome bud... The Senintel build is hella hard to kill. Tenebrous enchantments will help you a bit offensively in PvP, as for Armro Enhancement it depends on if you want to use Soulforge for 2-4 seconds of immunity once at 35% or below once every 60 secs, or if you want 2-3.2% of damage reflected back at the person hitting you with Briartwine. Depends on your playstyle there!

@kolatmaster: We definitely have a difference in how we look at our sent builds. Pretty near the same feat choices, except that I find that we become more versatile for the pug groups if we have more options besides just bravery and weaponmaster. (I've been in some very bad groups, and have had to respec a few times with a destroyer.)

    I'm planning on: http://nwcalc.com/gwf?b=hcr:4dbkg:a0ak,1000000:60000:60000:60000&h=0

Where savage advance and leap I consider situational. Flourish is nice, but I don't like it's CD.

True story, and I see a major difference being you not using Sure Strike which only get's better with Grudge Style in the Sentinel tree. Though to each their own, as we are both having fun which is what matters. :)

Flourish is a must in PvP, IMO.

    I use 2x Titan/2x Vigilant, and as for encounters/dailies...

    PvE = Daring Shout/Roar/Restoring Strike and Crescendo/Slam
    PvP = Takedown/Flourish/Indomitable Battle Strike and Crescendo/Slam

@Kolatmaster : I very much agree that it being our "ranged" attack, it has some serious usability. If I was using instigator for either of my two main GWF's, I would be using it. I do find however that GWF vs. GWF, flourish isn't as beneficial as other options. The hardest fight against another GWF I had was somebody who actually mastered Leap. I even have the habit of ignoring that there's another person there if they are a GWF, moreso if they try flourish. Even against CW's, I'd rather get choked then use flourish so that I'll have unstoppable.

The only reason I don't have SS set up is that I'm normally quite good with threading WMS/WS. As such, I don't have a serious benefit to having SS feated. The extra damage is noticeable, but still not on par as simply threading everything. Sentinel, I'll likely pick up the marks damage boost, and skip the threat from the shouts, and see how that compares to other GWF's that end up in the same pug.

Oh, and I went and grabed a Reaver, with Bladestorm/Vigilant instead of Titan for now, with Aboleth rings. You should check em out. I think the swordknot I have is Vigilant's as well. Just need to finish leveling my lowbie now.

Get full teneberous in every slot, stack as much health as is possible. Get 2 set titan, 2 set imposing. Go for 21 sentinel and 10 instigator.

You are now good to be totally OP and impossible to beat 1v1. You should also win many 1v2's and maybe even 1v3's. With greater's you may be able to do 1v4's against not so good pvper's.

As for enchants ofcourse just get plaguefire and soulforged.

Get weapon master and bravery for a high deflect rating as your passives. I use restoring strike, roar and takedown.

I've only ever lost a 1v1 verse krusify who uses this exact build only has a much better version of my gear with full greater teneberous. When I'm talking 1v1's, I mean 1v1's verse people with greater vorpals on.

I can see the points with Flourish against other GWFs, though I feel it still has a place if you can time it when your facing them w/o Unstoppable up. Though of course that isn't 'easy', but it can be done. I have just found Flourish to be superb against other classes, and that keeps it in for me. Though I do need to do more testing with the new Mighty Leap, I am not going to deny the fact I believe there is enough versilatlity in PvP between our Encounter choices that there are many viable builds available... Who knew GWFs have options? ;)

My current gear is: 2x Titan/2x Vigilant with Greater Briartwine and Rank 7 Silver for Defense, Castle Sword w/Greater Plaguefire and Greater Tenebrous, Castle Knot w/Greater Tenebrous, other items I went with plus HP Rings/Belt with Defense/Deflection and Savage Enchantments. Though the Savage aren't working right, so I am 1200 HP below what I should be, so I max out at 32k HP. I know it is not an optimized PvP All Tenebrous set, but I also play a lot of PvE with him so I wanted a healthy balance.

Taking it from an ArP, perspective, you don't need to stack Tene, as our feats and con provide a nice value already. However, that whole "bigger pie" aspect does come into play. Grabbing 3% from a 23k pool is still only 680 damage per teneberous, with it's internal Cooldown locked. Currently, all weapon enhancements are averaging approx. 170ish damage per given perfect or greater designation.

Given rank9 enchants, you could get 1300-1500 extra stat points.

I've tried a few sets for PvP. By far, the Titan is the most useful while I'm in the Sentinel Spec.

I've tested out full Titan and full Vigilant, and I still say the best (thus far) is the 2x Titan/2x Vigilant as the Set 4 bonus for both is meh. Whereas having extra HP and extra recovery from both 2x set bonus is better overall.

:p If the 2 set bonus was a bit smaller, getting the Nine hells armor piece and the dominance greaves would almost be BIS, stat-wise/utility. (from a rounded perspective.)

^ I thought the same, but you MUST disguise/change appearance the Nine Hells armor because god help anyone who wears that thing.
    2 GWFS, 3 TRs, 2 GFs, 1 HR, 1 CW

I normally go shirtless. Wearing pauper's pants that are dyed correctly is a must for all GWF's now. My blondie has pink/blue ones and I went with the red/black/dark silver dyepack for my redhead.

Cat's out of the bag, now. I was hoping people wouldn't catch on the sentinel pvp ownage.

I have tens of hours of footage on my stream (twitch.tv/glohkamp) from both pre-balance and post-balance patch. Maximizing the effectiveness of unstoppable is really great, especially now that it has THP. Stacking the pvp 4pc set bonus on top of the THP and the 5% max hp heal from the instigator tree, you're gaining up to 35% of your max hp in effective hp every time you pop unstoppable. With a permanent 50+% damage reduction, on top of a 50% deflect chance/severity, the unstoppable pushes your effective hp even further with it's reduced damage of up to an additional 50%. You take no damage.

Tank 4v1? 5v1? Np. Turns Domination upside down.
