GEAR Score: get it right Devs

It's called GEAR score. Notice the emphasis on the first word: GEAR.

So why in the seven heavens dropping TWO ranks of Toughness (6% more hp) decrease my GEAR score of about 350 points? It makes no sense.

You have 2 options to make it right:

1) you make it count only the GEAR and not your HP and your temporary buffs;
2) you change its wording, how it works and call it "Character score" but doing so you must include also WEAPON AND ARMOR ENCHANTMENTS, Run speed and whatever other silly thing our character can have (excluding stupid stuff like Exp and Gold gain, Movement is actually much more usefull than those two).

Sincerely, a new player that just respecced into a better build with the loss of 350 GS. (And no, I wouldn't care at all about those 350 points if every single player in the server would stop looking for 11k+ GS char)

350 pts? You're lucky. I did a respec on my GF, who's GS was at 11.9k. After doing a respec to a full tank build, my GS dropped to 8.7k.

The bottom line is that the entire gs system is a joke and anyone who really knows how to play the game, knows that. When I'm looking for a group, I just say "Anyone need an awesome tank for their group?"

I've had no problem getting a group and have definitely had no complaints at the end of dungeons after I took aggro from 95% of everything the entire time.

So wait...you don't think a system that measures a character's effective based on the sum of their stats should count the stats of the player?

It should count the stats of the player that are important for the role they are doing and weighted appropriately (and it should also ignore temporary buffs from potions etc)

    Please get the facts straight.
Gearscore is not a measurement of your gear or your character.

It's a measurement of how large your e-peen is.
Mine is 15k and it's one of the bigger ones out there, so I must know what I'm talking about.
Don't give me that HAMSTER about gear or character score. When it is actually e-peen size measurement.

I see most people just stop at the first 2 lines of the threads. It just shows what kind of community this game has.

E-peen? Elite? Me? Did you read the part where I said I wouldn't care at all if actually the requirement to join a party wasn't 10k at minimum? Maybe some of you need a lesson on how to read everything.

Snowballo: that is exactly my point, thanks. GS is nothing but an e-peen measurement. That is why it should either re-worked to actually measure you GEAR SCORE e-peen or you can get rid of it completely.

Looks like someone missed the whole point of my thread (what a news, right?). Characters' effective stats? Sorry, it's called
    > GEAR <
score, not character's score. Do you see my point now?

Another one of those players asking 11k + GS to run a Karrundax probably. Didn't even bother to read the whole point of the thread.

    Amusing.

Miss-leading word as it is, it's not directly counting the value of your gear alone but your stats gain, like health and so on.

Tested this myself and seems to be correct

This also seems to be the reason GF can reach such high amount of GS because of their defense and health values.
I'm always friendly and will be happy any of your inquires via pm!
However i'm not a part of PWE and can't handle any questions regarding your personal details or account.
Please respect the forum ToS and keep a nice manner towards your fellow adventurers!

What set are you using? If you're using a decent enough set for tanking, it'd be good to know about what gearscore a full tank GF has.

Exactly. It shouldn't be called GEAR score or it should be reworked to actually count only the gear. It's the whole point of the thread.

(if they would eliminate it at all, I bet many people would be happier but I don't think it's going to happen soon)

Well i got a GF to level 60 yesterday and my starting gs before i got any rares/very rare or any item set was 8.3kgs in green items and now im almost 11k with half set stalwart and full set pvp gear...which puts me near 11k and if you read the actual reason behind gearscore it says "your sum of attack/healing and protection values". Your HP are taken into account as HP values are counted as protection, as well as yes what your gear actually represents i know the GearScore can be abit...for a better word pointless because i still need to reach Arpen% and every good item i get with good Arpen% makes my gs go down.

It's also a pain in the HAMSTER when your gear score has dropped so low you can't get into the epic dungeons any more...

The Gear Score system really needs to be reworked...

Upgraded from two sets of 2, to a full set of 4 (Which you'd think is the goal with end-game gear) and dropped around 600 GS.

I think Dev should remake the "Gear score" little bit. Maybe they should go for Item levels only, not the stats.

Gear Score is simply total of your attribute, nothing more, nothing less. what they really need to do is remove it and bring back fully D&D Armor Class system

Then it should not be called Gear score. It should be called Character's score. Or get rid of it completely.
