Okay, we all know the problems, what are some solution ideas that could realistically be implemented fairly quickly to pull it out?
1. Instances. I don't think they have the tech to create group events that sidekick/balance level, so how about spawning some of the mobs underground in sewer-access instances? You can go in in a group or solo, and you have five minutes to kill the mobs in a simple sewer instance? Maybe if you group, the advantage is that you'll make it to an end-boss?
2. Raise monster HP. I don't know the mechanic being used, but at least this would allow low-level guys like me to get in a hit. I don't know if this will matter because mobs will still go down too fast.
3. Make the invasion spawn in other areas, like Blackgate etcetera, and more randomly. Make the mobs something that characters encounter in regular PVE zones, so they have a shot at them when no one else is around - and make those mobs zone-level.
Yeah those would be good. The first one I doubt would work as it sounds basically like making another jungle but the other two sound simple to implement with good results. In protectors enclave I for instance, an many others encounter lots of lag even without the event, and that means that even without being low level its near impossible to hit a thing with the massive delay on both visuals AND between pressing a button and skill going off.
Personally I think making the game not almost crash every time the portals close should be priority.
Unluckily, I suspect that this isn't feasible - after all, they needed a big patch to help with the lag, which implies that they'd need more, big work. They can't be packing excitement into Protector's Enclave. I'm thinking random spawns in other zones might be the most feasible suggestion I've seen so far, i.e. you're in Blackgate, you get a message and rush there: there's an elite mob there, level appropriate to zone, that you then kill with the people in the zone.
Sure, higher level toons could camp zones, but they spawns could be sporadic enough to make that not really feasible.
What about a new daily, that you pick up through the reward-giving mobs they've already set up? I don't think it would be too hard to slap together an instance.
That would allow players who can't log on every hour to get in on something every day, w/out hassle.
Add in some big powerful near world boss monsters into this event, to go along with all of the far easy to take down adds. Something with an instant knockback or stun when it appears and gives time for more adds to be summoned. Make the big guy strong enough that it would take a few groups to take him down and still make it a tough fight.
Add far more HP to the mobs and make them hit harder. There really needs to be a "fear of death" for your character with every invasion.

This is a good idea, as high level characters would draw a lot of the aggro, low-level characters get in hits on the adds. You'd need to do something about it being an AOEfest, but even then: low-level toons could bang on the big mob and end up getting reward through their banging.
You have an average of 130 people per instance beating on 5-6 spawn locations most of them are capped and basically one hit any mob that comes out.
It very unlikely a mob from a portal would kill a lowbie anyway. So place more portals, drop one in the middle of ah
at the statue in the center of enclave, etc, more portals so people can have some fun.
From the other thread (trying to consolidate). This would help, but I don't think it would help the lag, and my perception is that there are so many high-level toons crowding the enclave fighting low level mobs, you might be surprised at how only one or two would kill them all: the end result might be awesome for high-level players, the same for lowbies.
