As near as I can tell, there are only two pets in this game:
1. Beginning Cleric Pet.
2, Anything Purple
Am I wrong? Is there any reason beyond cosmetics to pick any of the green or blue pets? I'm assuming this will change once the pet books go in, and then there will be only one pet, the purple cleric.
You are wrong, or not so much wrong, as you are missing augument pets in your list (which are blue, not purple).

For like 99% of my playtime, I use the cleric or tank companions. Otherwise, I *may* use the sellsword if I'm bored...
