I would love to see the Underdark (aka Drow Empire Foundry) where you have long *** storyline about "Drizzt" and few famous drow's even fighting Queen herself and their god Lloth
You CAN use any D&D I.P., including the name Drizzt and anything else (Hell, even Dragnlance stuff if you want.).
The only thing affected if you use other I.P. is that your Foundry work will not and cannot ever be "Freatured" in Foundry Spotlight. If you avoid using any other intellectual property - then you have the opportunity to have your quest featured.
This is straight from Mods and Devs during Foundry Beta test (Moonstars are Beta Alpha Testers and Silverstars or Foundry beta Testers - FYI). I can't link o those comments because they are in the archived - and private - Foundry Beta Forums.

Update: Bobcat's pithy response nijas me. LOL
I kept the email about it here is just a couple parts of the email
1) You're welcome to create anything you like, but we can only spotlight content that includes only original intellectual property (IP). This means that if you'd like to create something with Drizzt and co. playing pogs, feel free, but we can't spotlight it. We CAN, however, work with content that builds upon existing lore in the Forgotten Realms and Dungeons and Dragons universes, and encourage it!
2) No profanity or obscene content of any kind. All content will go through a review stage before becoming public, and anything questionable will be removed.

just to be clear, this means that simply mentioning or using a known character or deity in your story prevents a foundry spotlight?, or are we talking about re-creating entire quests from former D&D story's only prevents the spotlight?
where exactly is that line drawn?

The whole IP thing is pretty ridiculous in that everything is owned by WoTC, Warner Bros, what have you. If you make anything related to Dungeons and Dragons, Forgotten Realms, Neverwinter, or any other campaign setting it should be in the spotlight. I would much rather see original Underdark, Undermountain, or Kara-Tur storylines over a rehash of Drizzt's exploits. The DnD World has a wealth of lore already from almost 30 years of Forgotten Realm resources, we should be able to pull from those resources when needed. However, I can also see a thousand and one Drizzt stories being told like "Rescue Drizzt" "Kill Drizzt" or "Help Drizzt beat Artemis". I made a version of him to use as a contact npc, but hells if I would use him in a quest directly.

I'll have a full Underdark quest done in a few days after the foundry is fixed. It will melt your brain.
Every time they idiot-proof something...they make better idiots.
Indicating that characters created by TSR or WOTC are safe, but if a writer created him for a book set in D&D he's off limits?
