Edit on June 14, 2013: This has now been going on too long. Need answers. Not excuses. This is over 24 hours and no changes. 1 week since this thread was started. 6 days since posting an in game ticket in Neverwinter. No Emails sent to email on account to explain what is going on, checked both Inbox and Spam box. Have the same problem in STO, Black Light, and Champions. Suggestion to others who have a similar problem as me. Check your other Cryptic/Perfect World games to see if it is effecting them as well.
I have 2 level 60's and over the last week I have lost all chat channels, except system notifications and NPC area spam. This is unusual as I have never had a problem before this. I thought maybe it was a glitch. Actions I have taken:
1. When first noticed I relogged into my account after full System check, Disk Clean up, emptied cookies, made sure no backgound applications were running, and even a disk defrag to make sure it was not a fragmented file that was causing the problem. Forced a file check from the Launcher, and nothing changed.
2. Reset the computer. Repeated all of the prior actions in #1. Did another reset of the computer. Then logged in once the system read cleaned of all extrenious files and cookies that could have caused the problem.
3. I did a full virus and malware check. Not going into details about the programs I use for that. Let's just say they find a lot more the market versions are able to. Repeat #1 and 2 after a "negative test comes back for sickness" from malware.
4. At this point I do a search of the forums and other Neverwinter resources that players have made. I found a few interesting similar problems. I tried a full uninstall of the game and all files associated with it. Including any screenshots directly from the game that were not screen captures by outside sources that I use for getting UI images. Reinstall after a full clean sweep just like I did for 1,2,and 3. Even had a virgin Harddrive just for this installed for just the game's program. No joy again.
At this time I am perplexed and the only solution that seems to have worked for other players in this crux, was delete all of their characters. which only fixed 25% of the cases I found. Or buy a new account and start over from scratch. Which with the amount of time, effort and real money I put into this account. I would rather not repeat that route. Like I said 2 Level 60's, one is full Tier 1 gear now. Over $500 spent after the initial $200 for the founders pack, and the only solution that does not involve deleting the characters. Is to buy a new account and start over from scratch. While this situation removes me from all but pug groups now and has no discernible reason for it to have happened. I can only assume that this is a serious glitch or someone just being mean on an administrators level. Either way it's not funny or conducive to me supporting a game that has such program errors. If it an Administration action on my account. A mail or some kind of communication explaining the reason behind the action would have been polite and respectful for a player who has put a decently high amount of money into a game, after only one month of open game time.
At this point, as a long time Living Faerun DM. I am a bit put off of recommending this game to any of the players in my Living Faerun group, when this game finally launches. Over 20 years of loyalty to this game and TSR, to WotC, and now this new version of Neverwinter's long history in the D&D community. I am not amused nor happy with this turn of events. While I will continue playing on my lower level characters who have the same problem, I will not be supporting Cryptic games anymore in any of the games until this problem is addressed. At least I don't have to communicate with the community while solo playing through the content prior to Level 60.

Still no response. Hoping someone will see this or know a better solution then deleting all characters or buying a new account.

Same here, no chat whatsoever, fine yesterday but a graveyard today. Then again my additional 3 character slots cannot communicate via in game mail either, with the original 2 default character slots. As for this game, they Xeroxed NWN 1/2 and made a multi player version (used another companies design for their own, accept they missed the quality of a BioWare game and Obsidians ability to tell a good story as well), ... the game has a rather disjointed feel of pre-packaged fetch quests lacking a strong story theme and antagonist... and I wont even go into the totally gutted DnD combat and class system that is in no shape or form DnD.
Do I sound bitter, yes I am in a way... I may have passed this game by, accept for the wonderful IP that is DnD. Which I feel has not been handled well and burdened by a horrendously over priced Asian cash shop model, plus the lack of a P2P model if desired.

Still having this problem. No explanations, no information about why it's going on, and Is there a way to fix it without having to make a new account or deleting all of the characters on the account?

Day 4 of no chat abilities in game. going to try making a new character on another server just to be sure it is just Mindflayer, or is it account wide like it has been so far.

What is up with the Lack of Customer Support? I have an account wide chat issue and have had no answers on the support tickets, GM requests, Forum posts, or emails to support. Since the one phone number I did find for the offices of Cryptic in California has been disconnected. I have paid over $1000 into Cryptic games over the last few months and now feel like the company has robbed me. If it was any other business. This could be filed under fraudulent product sales. As I have definitely not gotten my money's worth out of the products I have spent this much money on. I would have expected at least a few months beyond what I have gotten. I could have spent that money on other games that provide a much better customer service and response team to problems in game by individuals. Does there have to be hundreds of players with a problem before it gets addressed? I would at least like an answer as to why it was done to my account if it is something voluntarily done to accounts. If it is an involuntary glitch to accounts. Then a bit of feedback would still be nice.

Is this a known glitch for accounts? Or is it something else that needs to be addressed? If it is an account injunction, maybe an email to a player's Email on account to let them know there has been actions brought against their account. It would be the courteous thing to do, and good public relations for a player who has invested money into the company to support said game.

Just to show that this is not just a Neverwinter issue for me. Have time and date stamps for Cryptic developers to check chat logs for the game to see the chats. I was by the areas that usually have the most player posts in game. In neverwinter that is the Auction area.

Keeping this on the first page and near the top to get it noticed. I have read several other posts by other players who have similar, but not exactly the same problems. Seems they get 24 hour silences, While mine has been going on 2 weeks now. Can someone address this please? The only thing I have been guilty of is playing solo and only chatting with friends in Tells, party, or guild when not role playing during regular game play while doing quests with friends and guildies. That is until I left the guild due to being unable to talk with the guildies without having to go to chat resources outside of the game.

This is getting to the point, that if they do not address this I will have to take a little trip out to CA and deal with it in person at their Main Office in the States.
